Seeking an Information & Master Data Management (MDM) Architect to join an investment banking clients' team in Santa Clara, CA. Contractor will assess the fit-for-the future of the overarching enterprise data strategy; review technical designs and apply design specifications to assure integration with the enterprise model. Additionally, the Enterprise Data Architect will help drive the realization of client's Big Data Strategy; and connect the strategy to business-driven Use Cases that align with the long-term Corporate Objectives.

As the technology leader, subject matter expert, and big data enthusiast, the Information & MDM Architect working under the Chief Data Office (CDO) organization will provide enterprise data for strategic data solutions.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Contribute to the development and adoption of a next-generation Enterprise Data Architecture Strategy

  • Define and document data standards and policies, including engaging with the architecture team to implement governance processes that support adherence to enterprise standards

  • Proactively research and incorporate technology trends that may be advantageous to the realization and continued adoption of client's data strategy

  • Engage with Business and IT Vertical teams to continuously evolve the Enterprise Data Architecture through the implementation of use-case driven solutions

  • Ensure that new data-oriented solutions are in line with the Enterprise Data Architecture standards and target states

  • Collaborate with the Information Management team to ensure Data Warehouse, Business Intelligence, and Analytics strategies and roadmaps are aligned with the overall Enterprise Architecture Strategy.

  • In general, provide thought-leadership to Business Stakeholders, Technical Leads, and other Architects for driving client's next evolution of data architecture, including the implementation of Big Data technologies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide technical direction and consultation to the project team for database design and data warehouse architecture decisions

  • Be engaged as a "hands on" team member to assess impact of any re-architecture decisions and how to mitigate risk

  • Leverage previous experience with major data warehouse re-engineering efforts to inform and provide direction for technical execution.

Qualifications:

Must Haves

  • Extensive experience (15 years minimum) in data modeling, data architecture, and data warehouse development on multiple platforms

  • Proven experience in providing technical leadership for a re-modeling and/or re-engineering initiative for an "Legacy" Data Warehouse

  • Proven experience in multiple enterprise data migration projects; preferably in financial services

  • Experience with multiple platform upgrades and associated regression testing

  • Proven experience with application migration

Technical Skills

  • Extensive data modeling experience for data warehousing and business intelligence

  • Proven experience with development on Oracle 11G and in-memory database solutions

  • Track record of hands-on ETL and database development for a multi-Terabyte data warehouse

  • Must be extremely knowledgeable of dimensional modeling techniques

  • Extensive experience with database design and query optimization

  • Proven experience working with Financial Services Industry Data Models in an EDW context
