Job Summary
AECOM is actively seeking a Lead FOIA Analyst to provide program support to a Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) program. The position will be located in Tampa, FL.
Essential Responsibilities:
Conduct personnel management and Quality Control reviews in support of information management projects (declassification, FOIA, research, records management, image capture, security reviewer).
Manages the performance and progress of employees and conducts performance evaluations.
Compile and prepare reports as required.
Maintain time accountability for assigned staff.
Proper understanding of document markings and ultimately proper handling.
Strong understanding of classification, declassification, and FOIA exemption categories.
Properly recognize actual and possibe nuclear weapons, intelligence information and military planning information in all types of documents.
Correctly apply appropriate review guidance.
Utilize proper records management techniques to ensure the integrity of the reviewed material.
Research information to make informed decisions.
Interact with the government client when necessary.
Leverage professional experience such as intelligence, military, operational security, or foreign affairs training while executing job responsibilities.
Plans work, mentors and provide consistent feedback to FOIA analysts.
Leads and conducts training of new employees on job duties.
Plans work and provide consistent feedback to all team members.
Provides reinforcement training.
Minimum Requirements
Bachelor's degree in History, Political Science, International Affairs, Security Studies or related field of study and at least 2-5 years of relevant experience; or 1-3 years direct experience in declassification, research, FOIA, public policy, intelligence, military weapons systems, or records management/museum. Excellent communication skills; working knowledge of word-processing and integrated software applications; organizational skills and ability to perform detail-oriented work are required. Position requires Final DoD Top Secret/SCI security clearance.
Preferred Qualifications
CENTCOM, COCOM, Joint Command, or military intelligence experience desired.
Experience conducting Mandatory Declassification Reviews (MDRs)
