The role of Associate Information Developer supports several key aspects of SolarWinds success:

  • Assist in development of technical content to support product delivery and maintenance.

  • Review Knowledge Base articles for internal and external customers to ensure minimum standards.

Responsibilities

  • Ability to work onsite in Austin, Texas.

  • Demonstrated ability to work and adapt in a fast-paced environment.

  • Ability to describe complex and technical topics clearly and accurately in a way that is appropriate for the target audience.

  • Strong verbal communication, interpersonal and presentation skills for interacting with team members.

  • Willingness and ability to organize a varied workload.

  • Excellent English writing and comprehension skills including excellent knowledge of American English and grammar.

Qualifications

  • 2+ years of technical writing experience in a software technology environment
  • 2+ years describing complex and technical topics pertaining to software products and networking concepts.
  • 2+ years of experience with HTML and CSS. Familiar with best practices for web content.

Preferences:

  • Bachelors degree in English, Communications, or other relevant field is desirable.

  • Working knowledge of MindTouch, MadCap Flare, Atlassian Confluence, and Adobe Acrobat Pro.

Duties involve analyzing complex health care data and developing reporting methods to most effectively convey this data; developing strategies and designing methods to clearly communicate complex health care topics and information through various media, making it is easier to understand and use; and researching, writing, editing, and producing informational programs and materials. May assign and coordinate the work of project team members. This position is located in downtown Austin and reports to the Manager of Health Care Informatics and Communications. State classification: 1575/Program Specialist VI/B23/Exempt ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES Communications * Creates clear, engaging, informative content for TRS staff and leadership, health plan participants, the news media and other key stakeholders. * Consults with and advises agency leaders and staff about communication strategies, public education campaigns, and public information options and programs. * Designs and develops a wide array of organizational publications including infographics, newsletters, presentations, website content and health benefit marketing materials and publications as well as website content, social media content, and video scripts. * Creates executive-level dashboards, visual briefings, and decision documents on health care topics and plan performance. * Participates in the planning and execution of public information programs, conferences, seminars, workshops, and public meetings. * Participates in the development of long-term communications strategies for marketing HIB programs. * Conducts research on stakeholder engagement to identify and implement effective communication and content strategies. * Develops, writes, and edits presentations, scripts, and other communication materials. * Assists with establishing an effective online presence, including the development of a health care strategy for the TRS website and social media platforms, including drafting main messages and designing content. Data Analysis * Analyzes and evaluates healthcare-related data, website utilization data, social media and e-newsletter engagement data to develop communication strategies, objectives, and tactics and refine messages. * Compiles, analyzes, and evaluates member utilization data, claims data reports from vendors, and program funding, costs, and other financial data. * Presents data in ways that communicate key information about TRS' health benefits programs and that promotes shared understanding among a large and varied audience. * Develops and creates models, scorecards, dashboards, and other quantitative analytical tools based on a thorough understanding of business and industry requirements. * Assists with researching, analyzing, and evaluating other state group health programs for comparison with TRS programs. * Prepares, presents, and/or distributes routine and ad hoc reports. * Participates on special projects, task forces, and committees. * Performs related work as assigned. MINIMUM QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS/LICENSES AND CERTIFICATIONS Education: * Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university. * High school diploma or equivalent and additional full-time experience in data analysis, health care informatics, health care administration, benefits administration, communications or a related field may substitute for the required education on an equivalent year-for-year basis. * Advanced degree in data analysis, health care informatics, health care administration, benefits administration, communications, business administration or a closely related field may substitute for one year of the required experience. Experience: * Five (5) years of full-time experience in health care, insurance, benefits administration, communications, accounting, financial analysis, or a related field. * Three (3) years of experience analyzing health care data. * Two (2) years of experience in designing data-intensive presentations, publications, and other content. * Two (2) years of experience in communications, marketing, public relations, or a related field. * Experience may be concurrent. Preferred Qualifications * Bachelor's or Master's degree in health care administration, business, communications, or a related field. * Experience in developing communications plans and marketing strategies to inform and engage stakeholders. * Experience in technical writing, editing, and publication development related to health care or health insurance administration. * Experience developing data-centric graphics in software such as Adobe, Excel, Pictochart, or Canva. * Skill in editing and publication development including intermediate to advanced knowledge of Adobe InDesign Suite or other design product.
