Purpose of Role

We are looking for an experienced business systems analyst and programmer to join our growing business intelligence team. This individual will act as the vital link between our technological capacities and our business objectives. The individual will be expected to improve business efficiency by way of cost-effective solution strategy through solving organizational information problems. The individual will be responsible to transform the efficiency and the effectiveness of Business Intelligence Reporting and Analysis through improving the base solutions, visualizations and analytical models so that improved, better-informed decisions to generate cash, cost savings and service across the supply chain. The individual must be comfortable working with a wide range of stakeholders and functional teams to deliver the business intelligence strategy.

The Information Delivery Analyst will work with Mars Information Services and other site associates to assist in the execution of the business intelligence strategies. This role is responsible for leading, designing, developing, integrating and implementing innovative technical solutions to support the reporting and analytical processes. This position will also be responsible for performing analyses of information from various sources to assist in managerial decisions, projects and initiatives leading to improved customer service, logistics efficiencies and cost performance.

This position is also expected to create and lead projects that positively impact all aspects of Supply Chain performance, including freight efficiency, warehousing, Lean, customer service and Do it Best initiatives. This position requires in depth knowledge of Supply Chain information systems in order to effectively analyze and develop solutions across the network, to respond to the daily ad hoc information delivery requirements and to facilitate continuous improvements in information delivery tools, systems and process.

As primary outputs, this position:

  • Fosters and develops working relationships within the Supply Chain, Customer Care, Demand Planning, S&F, Commercial, Regional Distribution Centers as well as third party customers.

  • Recognize areas of improvement within the Information Delivery systems and continuously improve processes to ensure our Customer receives "Best in Class" Customer Service and Metrics.

  • Delivers high quality, robust information and insights to the business via well-organized data from the Supply Chain Operating System.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and establish KPIs and Supply Logistics metrics.

  • Develop, implement and monitor reports and trends on Logistics performance in the areas of operations, customer service and cost.

  • Support daily, weekly, period, and ad hoc information needs for all Supply function areas.

  • Support and develop operational metrics for:

  • Operations Planning and Customer Care

  • Warehouse / Replenishment management teams

  • Develop information delivery tools as well as facilitate and drive continuous improvements in information quality, systems and processes.

  • Maintain up-to-date expertise for a broad range of technical, analytical and information systems skills through attendance of user groups, in-house training and outside seminars.

  • Cross-train with other members of the Information Delivery team to be able to backfill their position when needed.

  • Collaborate with organization to understand company needs and devise possible solutions

  • Identify business trends utilizing real data and compile analysis

  • Determine and document business analysis requirements for business processes

  • Help design, document and maintain system processes

  • Communicate key insights and findings to organization

  • Constantly be on the lookout for ways to improve business practices and efficiencies

Key Functional Skills/Knowledge

  • Develops recommendations and proposals that drive and support the supply chain and the overall company strategic initiatives.

  • Ensure the accuracy and quality of both input and final published metrics and KPI's (internal to Mars Petcare or to Customers and Vendors)

  • Software Tools (within the standard desktop applications)

  • Streamline information delivery process for the Supply Chain Operating System

  • Knowledge management optimization and new decision support models

  • Strong analytical, decision quality and problem solving skills

  • Agility in Creativity, Innovation Management and Managing and Measuring Work

  • In depth understanding regional Customer dynamics

  • Strong influencing skills with internal and external stakeholders

  • Broad experience in the overall supply chain (planning, manufacturing, order management, physical logistics operations).

  • In-depth knowledge of all supply chain systems and data repositories.

  • Understanding of customer behavior and understanding of customer expectations and key KPI's.

  • Understanding of distribution, transportation, inventory management, and warehousing.

Minimum Qualifications

  • 3+ year's experience in information technology or systems development.

  • BS/BA degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Systems Application, Business Analytics, Data Science, Operations Research, Statistics or equivalent business experience.

  • Experience in analyzing data to draw business-relevant conclusions and in data visualization techniques and tools such as Tableau

  • Project management experience

  • Advanced SQL database management and maintenance skills

  • Critical thinking and problem-solving proficiency

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

  • Advanced working and application development skills in Microsoft Excel, Access, and SQL programming.

Preferred Qualifications

  • BS/BA degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Systems Application, Business Analytics, Data Science, Operations Research, Statistics or equivalent business experience.

  • Preferred 5 years of Experience in Information Technology (Systems Development).

  • Operational knowledge of SQL and SAP BW/Business Objects

  • Experience with Analytical Tools / Applications (R, Python and etc.)

  • SAP experience

  • Data Visualization experience such as Tableau Development

  • Detail analytical abilities

  • Project Management experience
