About This Role:

Textron Systems Electronic Systems is looking for a talented individual to join a small group developing new security engineering, analysis and administration practices. This role supports the design, development and compliance processes for various mission-oriented products in accordance with DoDI 8510.0, Risk Management Framework (RMF), and other security and government related requirements.

In this role you will build, install, test and manage system configurations for information system security software, hardware, and firmware, perform patch management and software updates and perform vulnerability assessments. You will assist the team in preparation and review of documentation to include network/system diagrams, System Security Plans, Assessment Reports, A&A package documentation, and Security Controls Traceability Matrix (SCTM).

Additionally, this role performs hardware and software security research and implementation as well as identifies and implements new emerging security technologies to assist in the development of IA product configurations, policies and procedures, and the automation of system installation and testing.

  • BA or BS degree in Information Technology, Information Assurance, or Cyber Security preferred. Other degree with experience acceptable.

  • Good level of understanding of operating system security settings, configurations and policies (Windows, RedHat, and/or Unix based)

  • Good analytical and problem-solving skills to troubleshoot and resolve network/operating system security issues

  • Experience with validating systems IAW DIACAP, DoDI 8510.0, or NIST 800-53

  • Experience with STIG application, testing, and compliance tools (e.g. Nessus, ACAS, NMAP, DISA STIGS, SCAP, IAVAs)

  • Experience with writing detailed technical processes, security authorization documentation and validation procedures

  • Previous IA experience is a plus

  • Able to obtain and maintain a DoDI 8570 IAT Level II or greater certification (e.g. Security )

  • Able to obtain and maintain a government security clearance is required

Additional Qualifications:

  • Experience with OS installation and configurations (Windows, RedHat, Linux/Unix based), virtual environments, and/or scripting languages (Python, PowerShell, Bash, etc.) is preferred

  • Knowledge or technical background with hardware, systems, and switches (i.e. Cisco) is preferred

  • Knowledge or experience working with IP networking, networking protocols and security related technologies including encryption, IPsec, PKI, VPNs, firewalls, proxy services, DNS is a plus

  • Skills in troubleshooting, problem solving, research and multitasking are also highly recommended.

  • Knowledge or experience with server setup and management is a plus

  • Has a desire to develop personal and professional skill sets

  • Able to work in individual or team environments and adapt quickly to change
