Overview

The Informatica Admin will perform installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, patching, administration, performance tuning, upgrading of Informatica Power Center application and database servers. Will define, develop and document standardized monitoring procedures for data integration processes. Provide 24/7 support of Informatica Power center environment.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the implementation and maintenance of database systems.

  • Create virtual machines (VMs) hosted on-prem or in the cloud as part of supporting research data management.

  • Provide guidance to the team about which database solutions best meet current needs, and keep current with developments for data storage techniques, privacy and security methods, and access control methods.

  • Support, maintain, manage, and test the security and integrity of databases capable of storing large amounts of data from many different sources.

  • Responsible for ETL, data mapping, and data integration documentation including documentation of business processes and how data is stored.

  • Maintain strong working knowledge of released products and take ownership for identifying product improvements.

  • Learn to use and support proprietary software.

  • Provide support of Informatica suite platform administration both on-prem and in the cloud.

  • Provide for external application access to Informatica services and other customization tasks by using the services integration framework.

  • Implement best practices within the IT organization specific to the Informatica solution strategy.

  • Configure Informatica suite per developer requirements and workbenches to build data models and configure and execute the data management processes to including landing, staging, trust, load, match, and merge.

  • Participate in providing 24x7 coverage to ensure applications availability including the ability to troubleshoot, evaluate, assess and remediate multi-tiered technical applications.

  • Develop best practices around managing Informatica configurations.

Qualifications

  • Informatica Admin Certification Preferred

  • Microsoft Professional Preferred

  • 2-5 years experience in relational database concepts with hands-on experience with MSSQL, OR Oracle.

  • 2-5 years experience in database programming With T-SQL or PL-SQL.

  • 3-5 years experience working with ETL tools (SQL Server Integration Services, Informatica Power-center, Azure or Azure Data Factory) and technologies.

  • NoSQL databases, C#, Python, and SPARK SQL a plus.

  • BS/BA in Computer Science, Information Systems, engineering or related field.

  • MS/MA in Computer Science, Information Systems, engineering or related field preferred.

  • Experience working with Informatica Power Center 10.2

  • Understanding of Informatica Data Quality IDQ

  • Experience in Informatica Power Exchange

  • Experience in Informatica Web Service Hub

  • Knowledge of Power Shell.

  • Understanding of batch and streaming data integration methodologies.

  • Operational (24/7) creative, out of the box thinker.

  • Able to work in a fast pace agile environment with multiple competing deadlines.

  • Very detail oriented with the ability to handled multiple priorities in an organized manner.

  • Strong problem solving skills.

  • Out of the box thinker with a creative mindset.

  • Understands dimensional and star schema Data Warehouse modeling techniques.

  • Advanced working knowledge of data marts, operational data stores, and data lakes.

  • Knowledge of API Development Point to Point API Integration.
