As a member of the Information Security Risk Division, this individual works with managers throughout the division to identify the types of metrics and associated data needed to measure service delivery success. This individual works to collect and transform the data into information that will facilitate optimal decision-making. The data engineer is responsible for gathering requirements, design, and teaming with the Business Intelligence team for creation and support of the Information Security Risk metrics.
This individual works with divine guidance to provide or support technology that furthers the mission of the Church and reflects the eternal impact of the gospel.
With supervision, provides metrics expertise in defining, developing, deploying and maintaining information security services metrics
Guides Information Security service managers in identifying how to represent service up-time, product delivery, and effectiveness through easy-to-consume metrics
Helps Information Security leaders define the proper areas to measure based on the service delivery goals established for each security service and product.
Possess and utilize knowledge, specific to the data field, to complete significant assignments
Work with Reports and Business Objects Team to implement required metrics dashboards
Recognize and report security issues and requests and implement improvements
Utilize Star Schema data models
Maintain and support ETL jobs, pulling data from various source systems and loading data into the data warehouse
Use semantic layer to support end-user self-service
Build reports using SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS)
Create dashboards using Microsoft Power BI or Tableau
Create reports that highlight areas in need of performance improvement
This role is not responsible for supplanting the services provided by the Business Intelligence team, but rather for serving as a subject matter expert bridge to help the Security Division identify needed metrics and communicate them to the Business Intelligence team for implementation
Bachelor's degree in related field or equivalent professional experience.
Previous data warehouse experience
Familiarity with industrial grade experience in data science, including machine learning and NLP
Basic understanding of data analysis and report design/development
Good communicator; both written and verbal
Contribute to resolving complex problems
Familiarity with engineering best practices
Basic operational understanding
Dimensional data modeling skills
Ability to quickly learn new tools and technology
Familiar with developing ETL code, can manage the ingestion and cleansing of large sets of structured and unstructured data
Exposure to the algorithms used for regressions, clustering, classification, forecasting, and constructing graphs
Familiar with Bayesian inference

Must be a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and currently temple worthy.
