WellStar Kennestone Regional Medical Center has an exceptional opportunity for an Infection Preventionist.
The Infection Preventionist (IP) is a professional who functions under the direction of the Infection Prevention Manager, Executive Director of Infection Prevention, or Director/ED/AVP of Quality. Responsibilities include but not limited to: hospital surveillance and associated activities by identifying healthcare associated infections within the facility, public reporting to regulatory and licensing agencies as mandated, education of patients and team member.
Assist with the development of policy and procedures in conjunction with the WellStar system. Routinely audits and makes physical rounds of the facility departments to monitor Infection Prevention practices. Participates in the development of quality initiatives related to infection Prevention.
Required Minimum Education: Bachelor's degree in Healthcare related field or Associate degree in Nursing required.
Required Minimum Certification: Certification in Infection Control (CIC) within 24 months from date of hire.
Required Minimum Experience: Two (2) years experienced in healthcare setting is required. One (1) year experience in infection prevention practice is preferred.
Required Minimum Skills:
Strong verbal and written communication.
Excellent teamwork and relationship building. Demonstrated knowledge of basic principles of epidemiology, surveillance, data collection and analysis. Personal time management skills are required.
