Staff Development Manager Description


Ensures facility is in compliance with regulatory requirements relating to staff credentialing and education. Provides services associated with ongoing professional development of staff at the facility.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Conducts new employee orientation and coordinates competency completion.

  • Ensures for or delivers annual mandatory and continuous education for staff using internal or external resources according to state and federal regulations and company policy.

  • Teaches certain in-house courses, such as the NA training program, special care unit training, etc.

  • Coordinates employee health program (immunizations, flu shots, physical exams, etc.)

  • Monitors and ensures current licensure and certifications of facility staff.

  • Maintains employee education, training and health files.

  • May assist in the screening and hiring of nursing staff.

  • Completes required forms and documents in accordance with company policy and state and/or federal regulations.

  • Performs other duties as assigned.

  • One to three (1-3) years experience in health care field, teaching, or training and development.

  • May be filled by Registered Nurse, LPN, or a non-nursing individual who otherwise qualifies by way of experience or education.

Physical Demands & Environment

Employee is frequently required to stand, walk, use hands or fingers, reach with hands and arms, feel, talk and hear. Employee will occasionally lift objects weighing up to 50 lbs. Employee may occasionally be exposed to blood or other body fluids. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.

VIEW JOBS 11/9/2019 12:00:00 AM 2020-02-07T00:00 Description The Chahroudi laboratory in the Department of Pediatrics at the Emory University School of Medicine is seeking a highly motivated Research Specialist to join their team. The majority of efforts will be dedicated towards in-vivo rhesus macaque studies aimed at studying HIV infection. Specifically, we are interested in using this model to characterize the viral reservoir during antiretroviral therapy and to evaluate novel molecular interventions for reservoir clearance and cure in the nonhuman primate model. Principal procedures involve flow cytometry, tissue processing, and isolation of lymphoid cells from blood. * Under general supervision, performs a variety of defined research and laboratory tests and experiments according to prescribed protocols and assigned schedules. * Sets up experiments as prescribed by a principal investigator. * May be required to participate in laboratory maintenance activities such as sterilization and cleaning of equipment, ordering of supplies, inventory and media preparation. * Maintains records, files and logs of work performed in laboratory notebooks and computer databases. * Compiles data and records results of studies for publications, grants and seminar presentations. * Employees in this classification may be required to work with, take specific precautions against and/or be immunized against potentially hazardous agents. * Performs related responsibilities as required by principal investigator. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor's degree in a scientific field OR equivalent combination of experience, education, and training. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: * A background in the immunology and virology of HIV/SIV infection is preferred. * Excellent oral and written communication skills are required as is the ability to work as part of a team and with collaborators. * Experience working with nonhuman primates is preferred. * Salary will be commensurate with experience and will follow the Emory guidelines.
