Shift Details: Mon-Fri - Travel required: about 40% of position includes travel to sites for auditing and 60% in Wethersfield

Job Description

Responsible for assessment and evaluation of Infection Prevention (IP) practices in Hartford HealthCare Medical Group (HHCMG) offices. Duties include educating staff and reviewing IP best practices.

Administrative duties include but are not limited to participation in committees, projects as assigned, policy and standard work development. Collaborates with managers to observe and evaluate challenges in delivering best practice and problem solve with site managers and system director/infection prevention to introduce solutions for success.

Qualifications

Required qualifications

Completion of accredited medical assistant program and current certification

OR an Associate's degree and current Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT) certification OR a Diploma from an accredited practical nurse program OR an Associate's degree in related healthcare field with at least 2 years of experience in healthcare of applicable.

  • One year of experience in healthcare setting required.

  • Current CT LPN license OR current Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT) certification, OR current Medical Assistant certification required.

  • Attainment of a-IPC certification within 3 years of employment

Preferred qualifications

Associates Degree From an accredited nursing program OR In related healthcare field with at least 2 years of experience with infection prevention or public health.

  • 3 years in ambulatory care setting.

  • Recent experience in training/precepting employees.

  • Committee, performance improvement work a plus

  • a-IPC a plus
