What We Are Looking For:
LPN Licenses are required.
Infection Control Knowledge: Understanding of infection control principles and practices
Experience: Minimum of 2 years of clinical experience, preferably in infection control
Communication Skills: Strong communication and collaboration abilities
Critical Thinking: Ability to analyze data and make informed decisions
Adaptability: Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and situations
Responsibilities
Overview: The Infection Care Nurse at Chadwick is responsible for overseeing infection prevention and control measures within the facility
This role involves surveillance, education, and collaboration to maintain a safe environment for patients and staff.
Infection Prevention: Develop and implement infection control protocols, conduct surveillance of healthcare-associated infections, and update policies as needed.
Staff Education: Provide training on infection control practices to healthcare personnel and serve as a resource for infection-related inquiries
Patient Care: Assess and manage patients with infectious diseases, collaborate with healthcare providers on treatment plans, and monitor patient outcomes.
Surveillance and Reporting: Monitor infection trends, investigate outbreaks, and report data to regulatory agencies.
Quality Improvement: Participate in quality improvement initiatives to reduce infections and enhance patient safety.
General Description
Under the direction of the Director of Nursing, the Infection Prevention Nurse serves as a support person within the facility, providing guidance and education; assistance in problem solving related to resident care; monitoring compliance with state and federal regulations and coordinates the Infection Prevention and Control Program as set forth in the Resident Care Policy and Procedure Manual.
