Your responsibilities:

As an Infection Control Nurse, you will plan, organize, implement, evaluate, and direct the Infection Control Program while working as part of an interdisciplinary team.

  • Conducting ongoing surveillance.

  • Collecting and interpreting data to determine specific problem areas.

  • Conducting analysis of data to include risk assessment, prevention and control strategies.

  • Compiling and interpreting surveillance reports to the Infection Control Committee and hospital staff.

  • Directing investigations of clusters/outbreaks of hospital.

  • Serving as a resource to all hospital staff on all issues related to infection control and employee health.


How you will be successful in this environment:

You will demonstrate an understanding of patient needs, ensuring that each patient feels informed and understood, as well as heard. You are passionate about providing superior quality care and you are an inventive problem solver who thrives in a dynamic environment.

  • Having a current state licensure as a Registered Nurse, BSN preferred.

  • At least one (1) year of infection control experience.

  • CIC Certification preferred, particularly APIC Certification.

  • Possessing a Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.

  • Having a positive, compassionate and customer-service oriented attitude.

Responsibilities * Stay informed as to market availability, competitive markets used by others, and continuously expand knowledge of markets. Keep updated suspense, expiration lists, and maintain electronic and paper files. * Check or determine correct rates and premiums for requested coverage on new accounts and renewal accounts. * Work with producer/account exec on information necessary for coverage necessary for desired coverage. Make sure all submissions including applications are complete, accurate and meet company requirements * Receive phone calls from clients and companies and comply with the request and/or refer to the producers * Marketing: develop client proposals from inception to completion. Implement new account sales from enrollment to carrier submission. Prepare all enrollment and complete process until approved and implemented with the carrier which includes reconciliation of all employee coverages. * Provide technical support to producer/account exec benefit clients and to reach agency's business goals. Provide underwriting and placement expertise on accounts. Qualifications * Should have thorough understanding of benefits offerings and underwriting requirements * Knowledge of account management software helpful but not required * Knowledge of the law and adherence as it pertains to government requirements. * Must be a self-starter, imaginative and creative with good communication skills, both verbal and written * Ability to communicate orally, and in writing with others to explain complex issues, receive and interpret complex information and respond accordingly * Capable in making group presentations and communicating policies and benefits. * Capable and knowledgeable in managing Excel spreadsheets to include: formula functions & presentation spreadsheets * Capable and knowledgeable in Powerpoint and Word files and developing presentations and client communication * Minimum of five years' experience in similar position in agency environment or insurance agency * Must possess L/A/H license Trustmark Birmingham AL
