About this Infection Control and Occupational Health Registered Nurse (RN) Position
HopeHealth is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) that will be responsible for the prevention, investigation, and monitoring of the spread of infectious and communicable diseases within HopeHealth. The position will conduct review of the health records of potential and/or current employees to ensure the organization is in compliance with all applicable federal, state, local laws, and accrediting organizations.
The Registered Nurse (RN) will provide preventative measures that ensure the health and safety of workers in different types of work setting. Working closely with staff and management, this RN strives to ensure that all health and safety standards are met.
This is a part-time, 20 hour per week position that will be based in our Attleboro, MA location.
What will you do as an Infection Control & Occupational Health Registered Nurse (RN)
Develop and update tools, processes and practices to support compliance in infection prevention and occupational health areas.
Creates audits and reporting tools to support initiatives throughout the organization.
Participates in the coordination of survey process preparation and readiness for infection prevention and occupational health including accrediting organizations, RI & MA State and federal surveys.
Collects and analyzes quality and audit data including benchmarking data, CMS and accrediting organization reportables (i.e. hand hygiene, infection rates, potentially avoidable events, incidents, complaints) and targeted internal metrics identified by the Board of Directors or senior leadership team.
Develops and presents ongoing training with an infection prevention and occupational health regulatory or compliance focus.
Organizes & leads the organization through initiatives relating to infection prevention and occupational safety.
Collaborate on HopeHealth's annual Infection Control Plan
Review pre-employment health history screening/questionnaire for federal, state and accreditation compliance.
Review pre- and post -employment immunization records to ensure internal and external regulations & policies are met.
Review results of pre-employment drug screening and follow up with Chief of Human Resources or designer as appropriate.
Collaborates with external partners to ensure HopeHealth staff meet all the credentialing requirements of their facilities.
Provides oversight of return-to-work and light duty program
Functions as the point of contact for workplace exposures
Responsible for oversight for Hep B series follow up & compliance with completing series.
Responsible for annual influenza vaccination program and clinic coordination
Responsible for oversight of staff Health risk assessments
Collaborates with human resources relating to leaves of absence (LOA): reviewing medical certification forms prior to employee's return to work.
Collaborates on health, safety and wellness initiatives with Facilities and Human Resources
What are the qualifications to be a Infection Control & Occupational Health Specialist (RN)
Bachelor's degree in nursing.
Five (5) years healthcare experience with in-depth clinical knowledge.
Minimum of two years' clinical experience in a Home Care/Hospice/setting preferred.
Experience working with patients and staff at risk for infections or communicable disease.
Experience in quality assurance and performance improvement activities in a health care setting preferred.
Highly effective communication skills, both written and verbal
Technological expertise includes Word, Excel, PowerPoint and data mining from various sources.
Certifications in Occupational Health and/or Infection Control preferred.
Experience with accreditation survey preferred.
