VIEW JOBS 2/22/2020 12:00:00 AM 2020-05-22T00:00 Overview We are currently seeking Senior Systems Engineer to provide the installation and support of systems hardware and/or software. This is a key role to coordinate the planning of large-scale system projects through vendor comparison and cost analysis. In this role, you will coordinate systems planning, engineering, and architecture. As a Senior on the team, you will lead the development of technical standards and interface applications, evaluation of new products and system problem resolutions. You will be responsible for the timely resolution of problems that may occur with the systems and must resolve problems as quickly as possible. This position can be filled a Senior Systems Engineer or a Systems Engineer depending on the selected candidate's related experience and qualifications. What You'll Do * Lead or provide input into identification and development of system specifications including assurance of performance and availability. * Respond to systems problems by analyzing the problem, formulating a solution, and changing or repairing the system to avoid costly interruption of service to users. * Provide technical direction and guidance to project teams and other Information Services personnel such as Application programming, Architecture, end users, or Operations for telecommunications application design and implementation including network design considerations. * Provide detailed input on cost analyses, network and application design, testing, and maintenance, and documentation of new and existing systems and services. * Implement standard practices and procedures in analyzing situations and troubleshooting problems. Assists Information Technology management in interviewing candidates, appraising performance, and instructing unit personnel to maintain the staffing levels necessary to effectively perform unit responsibilities. * Collaborate with the Project Management Office (PMO) on projects. * Provides input on personnel and training opportunities to aid in unit administration. * Research and test products. * Recommend purchases and implementation dates of products. What it Takes * Bachelor's Degree or equivalent work experience. * 8+ years of related work experience. * Strong technical, analytical and communication skills. * Degree in Computer Science or Engineering. * Thorough knowledge of project management and fully adheres to the project management software and Solution Development Life Cycle (SDLC) methodology. * Experience in designing, planning, and implementing systems hardware/software solutions at least 4 technology disciplines. * Knowledge of industry standards and direction. * Certification is a plus.
