Ivy Tech is seeking a full-time Industrial Technology Instructor for it's Tell City, Indiana Campus. Experience in an industrial setting with electrical and/or mechanical systems a must.

Industrial Technology program provides education and training that's largely hands-on, using a variety of training equipment and instruments. Students can take courses on job-specific topics ranging from welding to fluid power systems.

Major Responsibilities:

PROGRAM OPERATION:

  • Perform all instructional duties necessary to teach and facilitate student learning in assigned classes.

  • Provide syllabus appropriate to course(s) being taught to students and follows syllabus content and requirements.

  • Maintain student attendance and grading records according to college policy as outlined in the Adjunct Handbook.

  • Submits requested information within established timelines.

STUDENTS:

  • Is available to students outside scheduled class time to answer questions/provide assistance.

  • Deal with student concerns and, if necessary, consult with program coordinator to resolve issues.

INSTRUCTION:

  • Meet all scheduled classes of contracted course(s). Use technology such as Blackboard, PowerPoint, etc. as appropriate.

  • In event of emergency absence, notifies program/department chair.

  • Conduct all activities with an appreciation and respect for diversity of people, styles, and views. Promote same as an integral part of one's work.

This is not to be construed as an exhaustive list. Other duties logically associated with this position may be assigned. All responsibilities will be conducted within the parameters of the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA), other applicable regulatory requirements, and professional standards.

Hiring Range:

  • $45,000-60,000 per 9-month academic year, based on experience.

Work Hours:

  • This is a full-time position. Specific hours will depend on classes assigned but may include evenings.

  • This position is expected to start in August 2024.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Possesses an earned associate or higher degree, from a regionally accredited institution directly related to the program's discipline.

  • Possesses any specialized certifications required for the class being taught.

  • Three years of directly related work experience to Industrial Technology. Previous experience with electrical and/or mechanical systems used in an industrial setting.

  • Must be located to teach in-person at the Tell City, IN campus

Preferred Qualifications

  • Possesses a baccalaureate, or higher, degree in technology, engineering, engineering technology or a baccalaureate, or higher, degree directly related to Industrial Technology.

  • Experience providing instruction at a post-secondary institute.
