You will serve as an Industrial Specialist in the Systems Engineering Department of NAVAIRWARCENAC DIV.

THIS IS AN EXPEDITED HIRING AUTHORITY ANNOUNCEMENT. The Duncan Hunter National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) FY 2009 provides that the Secretary of Defense can designate acquisition positions as shortage positions and recruit and appoint highly qualified persons to these positions.

Responsibilities

  • Designs and develops surveillance systems.

  • You will prepare production status reports describing delivery status and forecast, schedule problems or delinquencies, and schedule recovery actions.

  • You will act as a liaison between production/contractor personnel and engineering, quality control and contracting personnel to resolve product problems, requests for deviations, and similar matters.

  • You will meet with production personnel and conduct production analyses of operations, comparing actual performance with production schedules.

  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.

  • Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test (including marijuana) is required. A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if you fail to report to the drug test appointment or pass the test. You will be subject to random testing.

Qualifications

DS-05: Your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of experience at or equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS-11/12) or pay band (DS-04) in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Examples of qualifying experience may include the following: 1) Applying comprehensive knowledge of industrial & Supply Chain principles, practices, organization, facilities, equipment, and cost estimating principles; 2) Applying comprehensive knowledge as it relates to procuring and producing commodities; 3) Analyzing complex problems and issues, develop new procedures and criteria, and tactfully deal with top level and key personnel; 4) Gathering, correlating and analyzing facts; and 5) Communicating orally and in writing.

DS-04: Your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of experience at or equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS-09/10) or pay band (DS-03) in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. I have one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS-11/12) or pay band (DS-04) in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Examples of qualifying experience may include the following: 1) Analyzing complex problems and issues, develop new procedures and criteria, and tactfully deal with top level and key personnel; 2) Gathering, correlating and analyzing facts; and 3) Communicating orally and in writing.
