This position may be filled at either GG-07 or GG-09 grade level, please indicate the grade for which you want to be considered. Incumbent may be advanced non-competitively to the established target grade upon meeting developmental benchmarks, performance requirements, and other requirements, as applicable established for the career program or specifically for the incumbent.
As a INDUSTRIAL SECURITY SPECIALIST you will be responsible for the following duties:
Provide security oversight for assigned cleared contractor facilities relative to establishment and maintenance of a security program in compliance with the National Industrial Security Program (NISP).
Conduct Facility Clearance surveys for contractors entering the NISP.
Conduct recurring security vulnerability assessments, physical security inspections of contractor plants and facilities performing work for the government involving the storage and/or production of sensitive arms, ammunition and explosives.
Conducts security vulnerability assessments of cleared industrial facilities performing on classified contracts for the U.S.
Provides security oversight and assistance to assigned contractor facilities for information systems (IS) processing classified information.
Occasional travel - You may be expected to travel for this position.

Incumbent is required to attain the Security Fundamentals Professional Certification within two (2) years of placement on this position. Certification must be maintained in accordance with program rules.

Specialized experience required for this position is: Conducting inspections, surveys and investigations of government and non-governmental facilities and personnel in order to determine protection of sensitive materials and information and compliance with laws and regulations; reviewing contract documents, program security classification guides and contract security classification specification; performing administrative inquiries of security violation. Providing a wide variety of security management functions such as experience in the National Industrial Security Program (NISP), International Programs Export Control, and Foreign Ownership Control or Influence (FOCI).

If substituting education for experience, at the GG-07 level, you must possess a bachelor's or equivalent degree. For the GG-09 level, a Master's or equivalent degree or 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such as degree or LL.B. or J.D.
