Wastequip is recruiting for an Industrial Painter to support the Taft, CA location. The ideal Candidate should be familiar with using an airless paint finishing system in a fast-paced production environment, where they will spray surfaces of machines, manufactured products, or working area with protective/decorative material such as paint, enamel, glaze, gel-coat, or lacquer.


  • Cleans grease and dirt from product

  • Applies masking tape over parts and areas that are not to be coated

  • Fills cavities and dents with putty to attain smooth surface

  • Selects and mixes coating liquid to produce desired color

  • Pours coating liquid into spray container and connects gun to air hose

  • Turns sprayer valves and nozzle to regulate width and pressure of spray

  • Pulls trigger and directs spray onto work surface to apply prime or finish coat

  • Coats areas inaccessible to hand sprayer with brush

  • Cleans spraying equipment and brushes with solvent

  • Heats and sprays wax onto products after they are tested

  • Removes rust from metal with acid, wire brush, or steel wool



  • Less than high school education/ or up to one-month related experience or training/ or equivalent combination of education and experience.

As a full time faculty member at Bakersfield College, successful candidates will demonstrate commitment to student success through teaching and learning excellence. The successful candidate for the Industrial Automation position will have relevant industrial experience and/or focused academic study necessary to provide instruction in a full range of upper and lower division technical courses including, but not limited to: Programmable Logic Controllers; Industrial Automation Networks and Measurement; Control Systems Design, Integration and Implementation; Human-Machine Interface (HMI); Project Management and Budgeting; Quality Assurance; Industrial Robotics (including Programming and Vision Systems); or Facilities Planning and Operations. This assignment may include teaching courses at various locations, different times, and with different modalities. Bakersfield College offers college courses in the greater Bakersfield area, rural communities, correctional facilities and high schools using the following modalities: traditional, face-to-face, online and interactive broadcasts. Other duties include: participation in student recruitment and articulation, transfer programs; maintaining subject matter currency; developing and revising curriculum; using computer and technology; assessment of learning outcomes; collegial participation in departmental, college and discipline-specific professional activities. Education and Experience MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS : Master's degree in any field of engineering, OR Master's degree in any field in engineering technology, OR Master's degree in Industrial Technology, OR Master's degree in any field related to Industrial Automation, OR Bachelor's degree in Industrial Technology AND a master's degree in any discipline AND six (6) years of industry work experience; AND * A demonstrated sensitivity to students with diverse academic, socio-economic, cultural and ethnic backgrounds and students with disabilities. Note: Degrees and credits must be from accredited institutions (Title V Section 53406). Any degree from a country other than the United States, including Canada and Great Britain, must be evaluated by an evaluation service.
