The Industrial Painter is a position which includes washing, basic rigging, paint prepping, painting, general maintenance and more. The roles and responsibilities can change day to day and can vary based on the client's needs. An Industrial painter will be constantly challenged with new products and new processes because of the custom projects that we do. TAIT's coating systems vary upon clientele. We take pride in originality and go out of our way to do projects that are unique, special and have not been done before. Expect a lot of varieties of products and work.


  • Prepping the substrate for paint by applying a mechanical etch (sanding/media-blasting)

  • Washing the substrate with a chemical etching solution (Alumi-Prep/Phosphate solution)

  • Force drying the substrate with compressed air and fans.

  • Masking, plugging holes, etc, any paint prep required prior to painting.

  • Rigging substrate on table or hanging rig as desired or required for painting application.

  • Placing item in paint queuing line and prioritizing work in order as needed.

  • Painting items/substrates.

  • Placing items in designated drying area/or/force dry.

  • Deliver item/substrate to designated area.

  • Cleaning and maintenance of equipment and area. (Multiple miscellaneous tasks)


  • HS diploma or GED required, Auto Body and/or Industrial Painting certification or degree preferred

  • Minimum 2 yrs. of experience with automotive and/or industrial coatings application.

  • Basic knowledge on paint equipment and paint-booth operation.

  • Familiarity with varieties of different metal abrasive treatments. (Examples: Media -blasting, Chemical etching, Degreasers, etc.)

  • Demonstrated ability to use, mix, and spray Automotive and/or Industrial Urethane Coatings, water and Solvent based Coating Systems. (Examples- Acrylic Cross-Linked Polymers, Epoxy and polymer Primers, Urethane base coats, Automotive Urethane Clear Coats, Polyurethane Floor Sealers, etc.)

  • Ability to work with custom paint applications in a fast-paced, changing environment. Variety of products.

  • Must be willing to learn new concepts/skills/processes. Our work is custom and varies per each client.

  • Must have reliable transportation.

  • Must be on time for scheduled work shifts.

  • Able to work over-time and occasional weekends as needed.

  • Expected to "Power-Wash" parts for paint prep and/or fabrication at times. (Will occasionally be in a wet environment)

  • Must be a "Team Player" and have a positive attitude.

  • Ability to multi-task and re-prioritize work/tasks in progress.

  • High productivity expectation.

Responsibilities Essential Responsibilities * To work with the project and design departments to deliver high-quality automation systems that meet all specifications, delivered in a cost-effective and timely manner * Be responsible for factory testing and pre-commissioning of new control systems before shipping, as well as on-site commissioning and handover to clients * Play an active role in the automation engineering team, and work with other departments to ensure the smooth running and economical success of the company * Plays key technical role throughout the project lifecycle * Establishes and cultivates good relationships with clients, stagehands, electricians, ironworkers, project managers, and other personnel * Travels frequently to job sites both domestically and internationally Qualifications Education and Qualifications * Bachelor's degree in engineering * Minimum 2 years of experience in industrial automation engineering or entertainment technology * Strong proficiency in hands-on technical skill such as electrical work. * Familiarity with electrical schematics and mechanical drawings * Excellent communication, organizational, and teamwork skills * Willingness to travel often and work in diverse environments * Background in motion control, functional safety, industrial automation, robotics, networking, hydraulics, entertainment automation, Navigator, eCham, ETCP rigging or Allen Bradley, Siemens, Beckhoff, and Emerson control systems Tait Lititz PA
