Primary Duty:

Position will provide support for all electrical/mechanical problems that might arise with equipment/facilities as well as completing predictive and preventative maintenance work in a steel fabrication shop.  This position would also be responsible for machine management and maintenance across the site and would lead special projects to both equipment/facilities and systems development. Position is responsible for following all company and OSHA safety policies. Operations runs 2 shifts (5:30am

  • 3:30pm & 3:15pm

  • 1:15am), working primarily 4, 10hr shifts (M-Th). This position would primarily work afternoons, 3:15pm

  • 1:15am, however, off shift may be required.

Skill-based pay ranges from $25 to $35 per hour.

$1 shift differential for afternoon employees

Working Responsibilities:

  • Follow all safe OSHA work practices and procedures. Wear all prescribed personal protective equipment. Ensure all proper lockout/tag out procedures are followed.

  • Provide support for all electrical/mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic and technical problems.

  • Install, maintain, remove, troubleshoot, and diagnose a wide variety of electrical/mechanical equipment and components used in manufacturing process.

  • Machinery includes Perforators, CNC Turret Presses, Press Brakes, Routers, Welders, Drill Presses, Powder Booths, and Ovens

  • Installs, modifies, and relocates machinery and equipment and performs fabrication, welding, mechanical, electrical, electronics, plumbing, carpentry, or other maintenance skills.

  • Repairs and modifies buildings and plant systems as required.

  • Troubleshooting and repair of components such as rolls, shafts, bearings, drive belts, drive chains and gear boxes utilizing basic mechanic's hand and power tools

  • Troubleshooting and repair of pumps, valves, and piping systems to include installation of coper pipes or PVC pipes.

  • Reads and interprets manuals, schematics, blueprints, drawings, and other written installation and repair instructions Identify and complete predictive and preventative maintenance work and weekly mechanical inspections

  • Manage backlog of work orders.

  • Maintain Maintenance Area tools and equipment.

  • Maintain and organize all toolboxes, workspaces, and maintenance specific equipment.

  • Perform other duties as required to maintain or improve plant reliability.

  • Conduct daily safety risk assessments on routine and non-routine job tasks.

  • Lead systems development work such as standard work, training, and housekeeping initiatives throughout the plant.

Preferred Education and Experience:

  • High school diploma or GED required; additional education preferred

  • Must able to work without direct supervision and have an excellent balance between people and the tasks at hand and ability to work and be attentive to a team environment.

  • 5+ Years of experience in an industrial environment.

  • Machining and fabrication experience.

  • High level experience troubleshooting manufacturing equipment.

  • Experience with Electrical/Mechanical Presses, Hydraulics, Combustion

  • Mechanical tool and die

  • Automation Equipment Experience

  • Demonstrated skill in working with conveyors, mechanical drive systems (gearboxes, sheaves, pulleys, belts, bearings, sprockets, and chains), pumps, hydraulics, and pneumatics.

  • Knowledgeable of Siemens and Allen-Bradley logic

  • Ability to perform precision tasks including alignments using lasers, dial indicators, etc.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

  • This position operates in a manufacturing setting and can be subject to extreme cold and hot temperatures; uneven walking surfaces with cords, tools and other obstacles; intermittent loud noises; and dusty or dirty conditions. Basic PPE required: safety glasses, earplugs, and steel toe/composite boots. Specific PPE & training will be provided for activities requiring additional accommodation.
