Industrial Mechanical Technician Assistant 1St Shift

1st Shift 6am-2pm

Duties

• Assistant Electro Mechanical Technician support of high-speed packaging equipment and building repairs.

• Individuals must have mechanical capabilities in areas of set up, maintenance, and operation of production equipment at MCC.

• Responsible for maintaining a professional image with customers, peers, supervisors and the public.

• Comfortable with learning new technologies and skills.

• Communicate with Engineers, Quality Personnel and Plant Manager regarding maintenance issues.

• Attend meetings as requested.

• Assist maintenance technicians with line calls and perform preventive maintenance tasks.

• Performs basic support tasks to assist maintenance technicians in installing, repairing and performing PM inspections on equipment.

• Ability to safely operate hand tools and shop equipment as trained and qualified.

• Be trained to safely operate material handling equipment such as forklifts and scissor lifts.

• Perform facility-related maintenance tasks as assigned.

• Perform other duties assigned by Supervisor.

Knowledge/Skills Required

• A working knowledge of all types of hand, power and shop tools is essential.

• Mechanical or fabrication background is a plus

• Possess a high mechanical aptitude, be able to read and write English, and solve basic math problems.

• Production experience and knowledge of product lines at MCC is desirable.

• Self-starter requiring minimal supervision.

• Must be able to give and accept feedback and work as a team player.

• Good organizational and communication skills.

• Must be dependable and have a certain degree of flexibility to work overtime, different shifts and Saturdays and Sundays when needed.

Education & Experience

Associates Degree in Electro-Mechanical Technology, or five or more years of experience in a similar manufacturing environment.

Working Conditions

Required to sit, stand, walk, climb stairs, and lift up to 100 pounds. Normal hours are 8 1/2 hours per day, Monday through Friday and when production is scheduled on Saturdays (Saturday hours vary between 6 and 8-hour shifts). When production is not scheduled on Saturday, you may be required to work on an as needed basis, i.e. preventative maintenance or special projects.
