Industrial Maintenance Mechanic

Position Overview

The Maintenance Mechanic reports to the Facility Engineer and has primary responsibility for performing mechanical equipment maintenance for the assigned facility.

Primary Responsibilities

• Provides maintenance on plant electrical, mechanical, HVAC, plumbing, and other systems, plus general maintenance, with limited supervision.

• Exhibits excellent forklift / highboy skills. Must be trained on all lifts used in the plant.

• Follows, without exception, all work instructions and safety rules, including the use of all PPE and safety gear.

• Contributes to the general housekeeping of the entire plant area, and the assigned area in the maintenance "shop".

• Practices safety in all actions, including start up-shut down & lockout / tag out procedures for all responsibilities.

Minimum Requirements

• Experience in industrial mechanics (pumps, mixers, machinery repair), electrical, and basic PLC troubleshooting or technical training.

• Duties require a basic knowledge of various trade fundamentals sufficient to deal with general repairs.

• Must possess skills in welding, cutting torch, pipe fitting, plumbing and electrical.

• Good math, reading and communication skills.

• Requires demonstrated ability to perform all job duties.

• High school graduate or G.E.D. equivalency. A combination of 5+ years of technical training and experience. 2 Year technical degree preferred.

Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to education, work experience, certifications, and geographic location.

The salary for this role is $28-$34/hr.
