The Industrial Machinery Mechanic will work closely with the Maintenance Supervisor to maintain and repair equipment. We are looking for a general Maintenance candidate who has knowledge of manufacturing from the food industry who is excited to join a dynamic growth-oriented team.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Install, replace, and calibrate machine parts and attachments, according to production requirements

  • Analyze equipment problems as well as demonstrate the ability to tear down machinery or equipment, replace or repair parts, and reassemble properly

  • Generate work orders for all work done and for all follow up work in a CMMS program

  • Monitor the operation of plant equipment and systems to minimize unplanned downtime, solve problems in a timely manner and identify opportunities for improvement

  • Ability to evaluate and report improper operation, faulty equipment, defective materials, and unusual conditions to proper supervision

  • Maintain safety, health and environmental policies and procedures

  • Ensures city, county, state and federal regulations relating to the maintenance department are met at all times

  • Ability to provide operational training and guidance to operators as necessary

  • Ability to troubleshoot up 480 VAC and control circuits

  • Perform other duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications

  • 5 years minimum experience in maintenance with minimum of 2 years in the food industry

  • Ability to work overtime and occasional weekends

  • Ability to read blueprints/schematics

  • Bring own tools

  • Basic working knowledge of computer software, e.g., word processing, email and spreadsheets

  • Lift up to 50lbs.

  • Know and use Lock Out/Tag Out program

  • Must be able to work unsupervised, be a self-starter and a quick learner

Additional Abilities

  • High school graduate or GED equivalent, college a plus

  • Read, write and understand English, Spanish a plus

  • Understanding of general building maintenance

  • Understanding of process and components of automated production lines

  • Horizontal & Vertical pouch equipment experience a plus

  • Ability to prioritize work load

  • Mig and Tig welding of stainless steel and basic fabrication

Qualifications Qualifications Required * Three years of maintenance and repair experience or equivalency in one of the following areas: pipefitting, heating, air conditioning, steam-operated systems, pneumatic and electronic building control systems, plumbing and refrigeration systems, commercial or industrial laundry equipment, sterilizing equipment, gas or diesel engines and generators, kitchen and cafeteria equipment, mechanical and electrical troubleshooting, or welding. * Completion of two year vocational schooling, if in a refrigeration and air conditioning systems position. * Environmental Protection Agency certification with a Universal permit, if in a refrigeration and air conditioning systems position. Qualifications (Preferred) Preferred * Boiler license from a regulatory agency may be required for some positions. Working Conditions and Physical Demands Employee must be able to meet the following requirements with or without an accommodation. * This position involves very physical work that may exert up to 100 pounds and may consistently require lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling or otherwise moving objects. The position may involve moving heavy equipment and/or supplies. This position involves a variety of physical conditions, such as proximity to moving mechanical parts, electrical current, working on scaffolding and high places, or exposure to chemicals.
