JOB SUMMARY

The Lab Technician position is responsible for the quality assurance of Industrial Ethanol and Co-Products, and in-process testing to ensure the most efficient use of available resources in the production process. The position ensures accurate data is gathered and recorded to provide information to assist in decision making and compliance with all attributable regulations.

SALARY

$25- $30/hr - commensurate with experience 

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Take production samples to qualify ethanol prior to leaving the plant
• Collect and analyze water, wetcake, centrifuge, and methanator samples to ensure proper and clean outputs
• Gather and organize fermentation samples to control quality
• Review results and make recommendations for minor adjustments per specifications
• Document and certify the results
• Record samples and report information to the lab/control room
• Process regular quality control reports
• Gathering various samples and recording data
• Report and store results and back up data
• Prepare weekly Servi-tech samples
• Analyze monthly alcohol send out
• Perform equipment maintenance and inventory
• Test and calibrate equipment
• Clean dishes and other lab equipment
• Order and replenish all lab supplies
• Gather samples for outsourcing analysis a. Gather and prepare samples for shipment
• Ensure samples are delivered to proper testing facility
• Certify ethanol tank, conduct compressed air test, enter and proof the test results
• Follow all safety guidelines to ensure compliance a. Attend regular safety meetings, review SDS documentation

QUALIFICATIONS

• Prior industrial, medical or pharmaceutical lab experience a plus
• Experience troubleshooting/diagnosing mechanical equipment
• High school diploma / GED
