The individual shall be responsible for implementing industrial hygiene/safety and health programs as described in Client program/procedures. Perform sampling/monitoring of field work activities under the direction of the Project Industrial Hygienist.This work scope includes:
  • Providing support for the field implementation of industrial hygiene and management requirements and maintain a strong field presence in project activities.
  • Generating industrial hygiene field documentation including field notes, database entry, and chain of custody.
  • Provide support to the company in industrial hygiene and management requirements including support for the field implementation of the Chronic Beryllium Disease Prevention Program (CBDPP).
  • Supporting field operations with Industrial Hygiene support as directed including the development and implementation of effective and efficient methods for controlling and eliminating occupational health hazards.
  • Providing input/interface into the job hazard analysis processes as required.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
  • U. S. Citizen.
  • AA degree in Industrial Hygiene, Safety Engineering, or other related science field, or equivalent combination of education, experience, and/or certifications.
  • At least two (2) years direct field experience performing industrial hygiene monitoring/sampling.
  • Must be capable of meeting physical requirements for working in a hazardous waste environment, work in radiological environment, and able to wear respiratory equipment.
  • Capability of using Microsoft Office software suite and other software programs, and demonstrated skill in working in a team environment.
  • Have the ability to work in a fast-paced demanding atmosphere.
  • A motivated self-starter willing to support the extended project team and take an active part in making them successful.
  • Position requires the following medical screenings: Beryllium Worker, Blood Borne Pathogen, Hazardous Waste Worker, Hearing Conservation Program, Respirator User, Asbestos.

Assists in implementation and delivery of training. Performs work in accordance with applicable project procedures in accordance with policies and all applicable laws, regulations, Contract, Authorization Basis, and technical requirements. The individual will support Requirement Area Mangers and functional subject matter experts to develop training which implements applicable requirements and management expectations documented in policies, procedures, and guides. This position shall be performed under the day-to-day direction, control, and supervision of WTCC MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES/DUTIES/TASKS * Analyze, design, develop, implement, and evaluate training effectiveness relative to implementing project requirements and safety regulations. * Support the creation and implementation of documents and training materials. Products/training materials produced may include needs analyses, task lists, design documents, classroom materials, computer-based training, on-the-job training and evaluation materials, and the creation of written, oral, and performance-based evaluation items. * Support line functional personnel on the implementation of the projects standards on training and implementing documents. * Interface with requirements organization and individual requirements area owners to assist in the establishment of tailored implementing processes and training * Support the Waste Treatment Plant Nuclear Safety Quality Culture by emphasizing the values of safety and quality in the performance of work in order to protect self, others, and the environment * Administer facility training and procedures process activities including: * Revising and maintaining Training material in various databases. * Revising training and procedures - review and incorporate revisions due to program changes, procedure changes, design changes, lessons learned, operating experience * Assist in the delivery of training materials as assigned * This job description is not intended to include every duty, task or instruction for which an employee is Other tasks may be assigned, based on business needs and the department supervisors request SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES * None PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS (EFNM) Exposed Field Non-Manual Performs desk work, including writing, computer workstation processes, and telephone operation. Arranges for and/or performs presentations, oral reports, planning meetings, and other formal and informal contacts, requiring long periods of sitting. Oversees field activities through inspections, testing and equipment operations, which requires walking, standing, bending, and turning along with wearing of personal protective equipment. Occasional loading, transport, and unloading of tools and/or supplies specific to an activity. Amentum has joined with Bechtel to create an LLC, known as the Waste Treatment Completion Company (WTCC) to construct, start-up and commission the world's largest radioactive-waste treatment plant for the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) in southeastern Washington state. The project will use vitrification technology to process and stabilize 53 million gallons of radioactive and chemical waste currently stored at the Hanford Site which is a byproduct of plutonium-production during World War II and the Cold War era. The project is the largest undertaking of its kind ever and one of DOE's most technically challenging cleanup projects equivalent to building two nuclear power plants. Its construction site spans 65 acres and includes facilities for pretreatment, low-activity waste vitrification, and high-level waste vitrification, as well as an analytical laboratory. Minimum Requirements Education/Experience: Prior safety instructor experience in construction or general industry.
