Job Summary
Ensures a healthy environment for employees, students, patients, and visitors by serving as a university Industrial Hygienist (IH). This position performs IH chemical and physical exposure assessments. Maintains an extensive inventory of sampling equipment; provides education and training on OSHA, ACGIH, and other relevant health and safety standards; and periodically maintaining, reviewing and developing health and safety programs. Supervisor responsibility is included.
Skills / Knowledge / Abilities
Ability to quickly learn IH equipment and exposure monitoring software, MS Office Suite- Word, Excel, Access, and MS outlook, and TEAMs.
Does this position have supervisory responsibilities? Yes Preferred Education/Experience
Degree in basic science (Chemistry, Physics, Biology), public health, or related discipline and eligible for CIH. Three to five years experience in a professional IH role. Experience in an variety of settings including academic, medical, farms, utilities or research setting.
