We are seeking a skilled and proactive Industrial Hygienist to join our team. This role is critical in developing, implementing, and maintaining programs to measure and reduce employees' exposure to physical, chemical, biological, and ergonomic hazards. The Industrial Hygienist will conduct environmental monitoring, manage safety programs, and ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.
QUALIFICATIONS
Education/Experience/Certifications:
Must have completed or be pursuing a bachelor's degree in industrial Hygiene from an accredited four-year college or university. Proof of degree required (transcript or diploma).
OR Must have At least one year of experience in an Industrial Hygiene role if the degree is in a related field.
Must exhibit a current valid driver's license.
Preferred Qualification
Skills & Abilities:
Proficiency in interpreting industrial hygiene data and applying Occupational Exposure Limits (OELs).
Experience with industrial hygiene equipment and environmental testing.
Strong analytical, organizational, and project management skills.
Excellent technical writing, communication, and interpersonal skills.
Ability to perform accurate mathematical calculations and use scientific software.
Strong problem-solving abilities and knowledge of safety regulations.
Hours & Work Environment:
Willingness to work extra hours, travel as needed and maintain punctuality and attendance.
Must be able to travel as required to perform job duties and represent the Company when needed.
Must exhibit an excellent record of punctuality and attendance.
Due to the hazardous nature of the job environment (mobile equipment, overhead cranes, etc.), an acceptable level of vision and hearing are required in order to identify and respond to visual and audible warnings in a safe manner.
Must exhibit the ability to work with confidential information and maintain confidentiality.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
The Industrial Hygienist will develop and implement programs to minimize employee exposure to physical, chemical, biological, and ergonomic hazards. This role involves conducting environmental monitoring, including air and noise sampling, and using industrial hygiene equipment to assess workplace safety. The hygienist will coordinate with labs for sample analysis, evaluate the need for further assessments, and recommend control measures to ensure compliance with safety standards. They will also analyze data on occupational illnesses and incidents, investigate workplace accidents to identify root causes, and implement corrective actions.
Additionally, the Industrial Hygienist will maintain current knowledge of health and safety regulations, provide expert consultation on occupational health issues, and recommend improvements to safety programs. This role includes developing and delivering training on safety topics and advising on workers' compensation claims related to workplace exposures.
