The Position

Electricians perform skilled electrical work to maintain and repair electrical systems and equipment.

Incumbents possess a degree of knowledge and proficiency sufficient to perform advanced-level work and may provide work direction and training to others.

This position is located within District III, Elko on crew 302. Incumbent performs all repairs to new construction and maintenance on existing electrical systems and equipment; inspects highway system lighting, identifies deficiencies, sets up traffic control/lane closures; assists in the planning, and construction of new facilities, appurtenances, and performs other repairs in the maintenance and construction field including plumbing, carpentry, concrete, HVAC, and other mechanical systems.

Incumbent will travel throughout the District to perform these duties daily. Women and under-represented groups are encouraged to apply. To Qualify:

In order to be qualified, you must meet the following requirements:

Education and Experience (Minimum Qualifications) Completion of a recognized electrician apprenticeship program followed by one year of journey level electrician experience; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience. Special Requirements A valid driver's license is required at the time of appointment and as a condition of continued employment.

Additional Position Criteria A valid Class A or B commercial driver's license is required within six months of appointment and as a condition of continued employment. Incumbent will be required to work over 6 feet from the ground. Pursuant to NRS 284.4066, this position has been identified as affecting public safety.

Persons offered employment in this position will be required to submit to a pre-employment screening for controlled substances. The incumbent will underfill the Developmental Specialist 3 position and will advance to the next level in the series upon recommendation of the Appointing Authority, meeting the minimum qualifications and satisfactory performance. The Developmental Specialist provides targeted case management services for individuals diagnosed with an intellectual disability or a related condition. This position will use a person-centered approach to develop supports to assist individuals in maintaining health and welfare and to develop skills to live and interact in their community. The incumbent will assist the person to identify goals and develop an individualized service plan. Duties include assessment; planning, training and consultation; monitoring progress toward the service plan; resource development and crisis management. The incumbent is also responsible for networking and coordinating services with providers and other agencies and community partners.
