This is a REPOST. Previous applicants are still being considered for the position and do not need to reapply.

This Industrial Hygiene Inspector position inspects work sites and helps establish work site standards for workers and employers involved in demolition, abatement, and renovation activities in pre-1978 target housing including child-occupied facilities, such as schools and child care centers. Inspections are conducted to determine if abatement and renovation projects are conducted in accordance with rules and to ensure that project personnel, the environment and the general public are protected.

In addition, US EPA Asbestos Hazard Emergency Response Act (AHERA) inspections are conducted at public and private schools across the state to determine compliance and reported to the EPA. During inspections, health hazards at individual locations are identified, violations are noted, and corrective action is recommended.
