Industrial Hygiene AnalystI - Lake Zurich, IL - Position paying to $25.00 per hour depending on experience.

DESCRIPTION:

• Perform analyses on samples and complex sample preparation.

• Follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOP's) to ensure accuracy and quality of work.

• Ensure that quality control criteria are met for all reported data

• Approve data generated (Level I validation - for which the analyst has been trained and validated).

• Understand and troubleshoot analyses.

• Provide input to corrective action procedures.

• Ensure deadlines are met

• Adheres to Bureau Veritas Code of Ethics Policy.

• Supports and complies with all Bureau Veritas policies, Quality System and Health & Safety program.

• Ensure that instruments and equipment are appropriately maintained.

• Use summary reports to plan and organize work

• Follow all laboratory safety rules and regulations

• Keep their work area clean, neat and organized

• Contribute to daily and weekly planning

• Other responsibilities as assigned by their supervisor

QUALIFICATIONS

[Minimum Requirements]:

• Minimum of a four year degree in Chemistry or Biology and zero to one year of experience in an analytical food testing laboratory.

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

• Good record keeping skills and attention to detail.

• Delivers timely results and takes part in occasional project work.

• Ability to accurately follow Standard operating Procedures (SOP's) and instructions.

• Dynamic, energetic, motivated, positive outlook, and a "can-do" attitude.

[Preferred]:

• Experience in one or more of the following laboratory techniques: Crude fat, Metals by flame AA, Protein by LECO.
