Industrial Equipment Maintenance Technician II

Job Description Summary

Team member must be able to work in a team oriented and safety conscious environment. "Safety First" expectations include, but are not limited to, PJHA process, Observation process, and compliance with all company / site safety guidelines and procedures. Assigned tasks list to include, but not limited to, repairs and preventive maintenance on tanks, vessels, piping systems and structural systems.

Tasks also include layout and fabrication of new and replacement piping systems, as well as installation of valves and related piping equipment. Repairs and preventive maintenance to be performed in conformance with established standards. Assist in formulating preventive maintenance standards / work procedures while performing those duties and provide work order feedback on discrepancies noted in service delivery.

Must have working knowledge of the following topics; blue print reading, ability to draw and interpret isometric diagrams, be or be able to be certified to B31. 1 Pipe Welding Code as well as 6-G in stainless steel. Works from elevated areas such as ladders, platforms, scaffolding, etc. utilizing fall protection equipment as necessary to complete tasks Must have the flexibility to work all shifts including holidays and weekends as demanded by the job.

Perform other tasks, to include but not limited to mechanical repairs and maintenance, as assigned by Supervisor.

Communications with all team members to support the development of short and long range planning in support of the company's goals and objectives Maintain personal tools required for your job to include an up to date documented personal tool lists. Required tool listing to be supplied as part of employment. Meet physical requirements of the job.

Physical requirements of the job will be provided to you prior to employment. Perform assigned tasks in a safe, effective, and efficient manner. Accurate and timely administrative duties to include, but not limited to, time accounting and work order completion. Must maintain positive customer and employee relations.


Goals to be listed as part of annual performance appraisals and forward planning goals.

1.) Education: HS Diploma, GED or equivalent . AA degree in Welding preferred, but not required
2.) Experience: Five years experience in industrial welding and repairs preferred.

Responsibilities Responsible for personal safety as well as involvement in all EHS efforts at this facility. This includes complying with all Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) policies or regulations set forth by Simonton and/or various governmental agencies. Accountable for preventative maintenance and repair of all equipment as assigned or directed, i.g., dies, saws, welders, cleaners, etc. Technicians are responsible for daily inspection of equipment and accurately completing work orders and tags to indicate what specific maintenance work has been done, when it was done, etc. Specific equipment activities include, but would not be limited to the following:1. Maintenance and repair of guards and oilers on dies, saws, welders, and cleaners.2. Cleaning and lubrication of dies, saws, welders, and cleaners.3. Troubleshooting and repair of saws, welders, and cleaners.4. Checking and sharpening edges on machine knives, etc.5. Maintenance and repair of small tools, air lines, bearings,etc.6. Maintaining appearance of assigned equipment, tools, parts and work areas. Technicians are required to perform their assignments safely and must work to ensure the safety of others by wearing the proper protective equipment, following Lock Out/Tag Out procedures, and complying with other safety practices and procedures. Technicians are required to support the maintenance inventory system by looking up and researching parts needed to maintain production equipment and to keep track of all parts used. Technicians may be assigned special projects and will be involved in changes to existing lines and the set up of new lines. Technicians will be expected to attend and participate in maintenance training courses offered on-site and off-site. Qualifications Demonstrated ability to accurately read and use schematic drawings Experience preventative maintenance of machines, i.e., mechanical, pneumatic systems. Technicians must be flexible with regard to schedule and travel requirements Excellent written and verbal communication skills Must have initiative and ability to effectively manage assigned work Must be able to work successfully with others in a team environment Cornerstone Building Brands Paris IL
