The Industrial Engineering Technician collaborates extensively with senior production staff and leads to learn, document, and preserve product knowledge that goes deeper than the manufacturing procedures.  The IET will work in all areas of manufacturing operations, including project management, lean manufacturing, 6S, safety, and process improvement to support our strategic knowledge transfer initiative.

Requirements

· Learn CDC products, manufacturing procedures, and processes.

· Learn and document operator best practices used in fulfilling manufacturing procedures & processes.

· Learn CDC ERP system, becoming a technical resource for production staff.

· Collaborate with production management, manufacturing engineering, and cross-functional support teams to identify manufacturing constraints and execute solutions.

· Perform other duties as assigned, based on workload and business need.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

· AS degree in mechanical or industrial engineering or 1-2 years college-level engineering coursework.

TECHNICAL / FUNCTION SPECIFIC:

· Ability to read blueprints and drawings.

· Prior training or experience with industrial equipment such as presses, mills, and lathes.

· Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including comfort presenting findings to project teams and senior leadership.

· Rigorous and disciplined approach to work, good process awareness and willingness and ability to follow manufacturing procedures, even and especially while working toward continuous improvement.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

· Motor skills sufficient to successfully and safely use required tools and machinery.

· Ability to stand and/or walk for majority of scheduled shift, typically 8-10 hours per day, though possibly more when overtime is required.

· Ability to lift up to 50 pounds as needed.

· Ability to wear required personal protective equipment, including safety glasses and safety shoes.
