Job Description:
We are seeking an Industrial Engineer Intern for our Operations Department. This is a great opportunity for a current college student who is looking to gain "on the job" experience while working with a world class 24/7 aerospace manufacturing company. The Intern will have interaction with the manufacturing process, machine operators and the operations management. Areas of learning will include aerospace requirements, the production environment, best manufacturing practices and will be exposed to some management skills.
This is a paid position ($27.50 per hour) that is part of our Internship program and will last approximately three months. The person in this position will work 40 hours a week.
There is no relocation assistance available for this position.
Job Duties
The position is responsible for the following:
Assist with time studies of the production process, focusing on non-running time.
Work as part of the team for ongoing system enhancements and modifications; opportunities for process automation; forecasting methodologies and trending analysis.
Assist with scheduled production metrics reporting
Assist Production Control, Manufacturing, and Manufacturing Engineering/Tech groups for planning future scheduling, equipment and manpower needs.
Conduct, material flow and expansion scope activities to support expansion projects.
Provide analytical support and coordination for plant operations.
Contribute to the improvement of operational efficiency and yield improvement.
Assist in the joint responsibility of maintaining a safe working environment and implementing safe operating procedures to ensure an accident-free record.
Qualifications
Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, PPT and Word
Working on or has a bachelor degree towards engineering related field, data analysis, statistics, computer science, information technology or related
Be self-motivated and be able to find areas of improvement without 3rd party assistance.
