Job Summary:

The Industrial Engineer is responsible for overseeing engineering projects throughout the Fulfillment network. The Industrial Engineer leads the Engineering activities at each facility and ensures the projects and tasks are coordinated among all the sites.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Managing complex Engineering projects that meet or exceed scheduled timelines and planned budgets

  • Re-engineering & design of process flows, layouts, workstations, etc.

  • Work performance evaluation and time studies to assist with process creation and labor standards

  • Statistical analysis and reporting on partner profitability and overall contribution to the business unit

  • Evaluating and improving operational costs surrounding staffing, units per hour (UPH), and cost per unit

  • Assisting with operational and financial forecasting, staffing, productivities, capital expenditures, justifications, improvement analyses, etc.

  • Initiating work performance evaluations and time studies to assist with process creation and labor standards

  • Analyze data from potential new fulfillment partners to create costing estimates used to structure new partner agreements

  • Manage all aspects of projects related to the launching of new partners. Determine the optimum set up within both the WMS and DC and provide operational guidance based on known client characteristics

  • Performs other related duties as required and assigned


  • Bachelor's Degree in Industrial Engineering or Supply Chain Management

  • Minimum of at least 1+ years of Industrial Engineering experience within a highly automated distribution/warehousing environment desired

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office products with a strong emphasis in Excel, Access, and Visual Basic programming; WMS and SQL experience desired

  • Effective oral and written communication skills as well as strong interpersonal skills

  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize tasks

  • Strong business acumen particularly in order fulfillment and/or distribution

Industrial Engineer Develop and maintain Engineered Labor Standards and drive the Manhattan Associates Labor Management Methodology for our Distribution House (DH). Work with operations team to develop Preferred Work Methods and ELS files and configure the Manhattan Associates Labor Management System to equip operations team with an effective tool to drive operational excellence. Train DH supervisors, managers, and directors on the system. Provide inputs and constraints to capacity models for 3-Yr and 5-Yr capacity and capital planning. Build Activity-Based Costing/CPU Models for budget planning and expand the Engineered Labor Standards methodology for Labor Monitoring and Labor Planning for the DH. Job Requirements: * Master's degree in Engineering, Supply Chain Management, or related field and 1 year of business and/or industrial engineering experience. * Will also accept Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Supply Chain Management, or related field and 3 years of business and/or industrial engineering experience. * Additional experience must include: optimizing material flow through a distribution center; conveyor systems; labor management; Preferred Work Methods; activity-based costing/CPU modeling; Labor Monitoring and Labor Planning; Capacity Inputs/Modeling; compiling, analyzing, and developing recommendations on data; MS Excel; SQL; and MS Access. * Must have current authorization to be employed in the U.S. without employer sponsorship.
