NOV Rig Technologies is recruiting for an Industrial Engineer to join our FM 529 team in Houston, Texas. Join us as we continue to power the industry that powers the world!


  • Manage diverse improvement projects across multiple manufacturing work centers

  • Execute hands on problem solving of issues with product manufacturing and supply

  • Facilitate and drive improvement projects for facility

  • Work closely with Procurement teams to improve raw material and finished products performance metrics

  • Assist in developing and updating process, work center and facility related documentation

  • Oversee transitions, upgrades, and shifts in job structure, including defining and tracking performance metrics.

  • Map and analyze processes and identify ways to reduce waste, improve workflow, and otherwise increase efficiency.

  • Responsible for maintaining and updating master routers for FM 529 product lines to include, but not limited to, Power & Controls, Motors & Generators, Drawworks, Mudpumps, Overhead, Manifolds, and HPU.

  • Perform other work related tasks as assigned.

  • Comply with all NOV Company and HSE policies and procedures.


  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or equivalent combination of education and experience (10 years preferred)

  • 3-5 years improving assembly processes and other plant operations preferred

  • Working knowledge of Lean thinking and Six Sigma methodologies


  • Problem solving skills

  • Ability to handle multiple projects at the same time

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills

Reporting to the Director, this role will primarily be responsible for designing production layouts and lean management processes that increase productivity, eliminate wasteful or unnecessary steps within a given process, and reduce overhead costs, while maintaining high quality standards, as per GoExpedi's policies and procedures. This position facilitates optimization, within a given process, such as delivery route planning for item transport, product storage, system automation improvements, and operational procedures by increasing efficiencies within the company, based on observations, data, unit economics, and analytics.</p><p>RESPONSIBILITIES:</p><ul><li><p>Maintain a product location and identification program to investigate discrepancies and take the necessary corrective action to prevent future inconsistencies.</p></li><li><p>Manage and maintain inventory parts and budget and to review the patterns of demand, supply, etc., and to make acquisition decisions accordingly.</p></li><li><p>Coordinate with suppliers regarding the status of inventories and to ensure smooth delivery of goods by coordinating with the internal as well as the external customers.</p></li><li><p>Develop and design production standards by identifying unit economics of product and associated motions within the organization.</p></li><li><p>Ensure that all work conducted strictly adheres to the established processes, procedures, and protocols set forth by management's specifications and standards.</p></li><li><p>Responsible for requisition and maintaining the thresholds of specialty products in order to meet the production needs.</p></li><li><p>Responsible for providing documentation, archive records for cost estimates, and product logistics.</p></li><li><p>Coordinate and communicate inventory statuses of current issues that may affect multiple departments.</p></li><li><p>Implement process efficiencies and optimizations within the warehouse including, but not limited to, inventory storage, product picking and shipping strategies, and product receiving.</p></li><li><p>Works with multiple departments and GoExpedi distribution centers improve the total supply chain process.</p></li><li><p>May be required to travel (up to 25%) to other GoExpedi distribution centers or potential customer sites to monitor current operations and make suggestions or process improvements moving forward.</p></li><li><p>Train current personnel on process improvements and instructions on implementation.</p></li><li><p>Monitors current key performance indicators and forecasts data trends.</p></li><li><p>Reports on current issues and obstacles, while providing options for resolution.</p></li></ul><p>QUALIFICATIONS:</p><ul><li><p>Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Operations, Business or a related major preferred</p></li><li><p>Experience in logistics, warehouse management, inventory and/or supply planning preferred</p></li><li><p>Proficiency with ERP systems required (NetSuite, SAP, Oracle, etc)</p></li><li><p>Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma experience preferred</p></li><li><p>Previous automation or robotics within manufacturing preferred</p></li><li><p>Analytic oriented with excellent MS Excel skills</p></li><li><p>Ability to download information, generate reports, and manipulate data</p></li><li><p>Extreme attention to detail is a must</p></li><li><p>Strong written and oral communication skills</p></li><li><p>Open minded leader with critical thinking and creative problem-solving skills</p></li><li><p>Autonomous self-starter that can drive cross-functional projects</p></li><li><p>Ability to be adaptable to our changing demands and priorities with flexible hours</p></li><li><p>Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks</p></li><li><p>Knowledge to operate Forklift, Reach Truck, Pallet Jack and Cherry picker is a plus.</p></li></ul><p>BENEFITS:</p><ul><li><p>Medical, Dental, and Vision Plan</p></li><li><p>401K Plan</p></li><li><p>Paid Leave (vacation, sick time, and companyholidays)</p></li><li><p>Casual dress environment</p></li><li><p>Professional growth &amp; career longevity</p></li></ul><p>PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS</p><ul><li>Include but are not limited to grasping, kneeling, lifting (objects up to 50 pounds), ability to climb ladders, reaching above shoulder, repetitive motion, sitting, standing, visual requirement (able to see screens, detect color coding, read fine print), hearing requirement.
