KIHOMAC is seeking a mid-level Industrial Engineer / Operations Research Analyst. Candidate must be a systems thinker with math and data science skills necessary to develop models of maintenance production and enterprise logistics operations. The successful candidate will be an independent self-starter with a general knowledge of Naval Aviation maintenance. The Incumbent will perform a variety of data studies and analysis to recommend approaches to or validation for production and operational system models. Work includes modeling, simulation, data analysis, requirements development, process design, and evaluation of operations.

Expertise and Functions

  • Perform application of Industrial Engineering concepts and analysis techniques
  • Conduct operations and logistical system modeling and simulation
  • Design experiments and collect results data
  • Carry out operations statistical, economic and operational data analysis
  • Design Discrete Event Simulations using SysML
  • Perform product and process design and optimizations
  • Participate in capacity, capability planning and resource utilization
  • Conduct business case analyses
  • Author point papers, process documentation, studies and analytical reports
  • Other duties as assigned


  • Education/Training:
    • Bachelors degree in industrial engineering, operations research, economics, or mathematics
    • Associate degree plus 4 years of additional work experience related to industrial engineering or operations analysis may be substituted for a bachelors degree
  • Experience:
    • 5+ years experience
    • Industrial engineering, mathematical and statistical analysis methods
    • Production and logistics modeling and simulation
    • Process and workflow development
    • Technical writing
    • Algorithm, model, and simulation development in MATLAB, Python, C++, C# programming languages
    • Lean Six-sigma
  • Security:
    • Must be a US citizen
    • Ability to obtain a security clearance required
    • Active security clearance at level Secret or higher preferred
