WORK SCHEDULE
40 hours per week. May be required to work additional hours as needed to complete assignment or project. May require flexible work schedule.
SUMMARY
Under the direction of the Project Manager, consult with the project team regarding design, construction, technology, budget, and operational feasibility of warehouse/material handling/logistics/loading dock/inventory control operations related to the contract. In particular, candidate should have working knowledge of current pallet/moveable storage systems, manufacturers, and vendors.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Serve as the subject-matter expert for technology meant to improve efficiencies and productivity in warehouse operations and materials handling.
Evaluate client requirements and recommend technology/operations options to improve efficiencies in warehousing, materials handling and inventory control.
Perform design review and provide feedback/recommendations to the client.
Assist in cost evaluation for proposed technologies related to the design effort.
Provide information regarding industry lead-times for proposed technology packages.
Provide industry standards and best practices expertise.
In all project phases related to technology, serve as the subject-matter expert, and represent the interests and requirements of the client.
Assist with ad hoc team requests, as needed.
Maintain regular and punctual attendance.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Position consists of sitting for long periods of time, using hands/fingers, handling, reaching with hands and arms, talking, hearing and seeing up close, at a distance, along the periphery, with depth perception and the ability to focus; occasional walking or standing, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, and lifting boxes weighing up to 10 pounds. Moderate to extended periods of office work with heavy periods of computer usage. May be assigned occasional to moderate periods of analytical tasks requiring extensive reasoning abilities. WORK ENVIRONMENT
Work is performed in a professional office setting and at job site construction locations during project transitioning with a wide variety of people in different functions, personalities and abilities.
Job Requirements
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field. In lieu of degree, relevant work experience may be substituted on a year for year basis.
Demonstrated computer proficiency with MS Office.
Minimum 10 years' experience with materials handling, warehousing, technology, logistics, or another relevant field.
Must be able to obtain and maintain access to the work location within a federal facility. (U.S Citizenship required).
Must obtain and maintain all necessary security access and/or background checks.
SPECIAL SKILLS
Possess excellent communication (written and oral) and organizational skills.
Possess knowledge and expertise in parcel, distribution, fulfillment, e-commerce, and loading dock operations for large warehouse operations of at least 300,000 sq ft and 500 employees.
Demonstrated understanding and experience with current materials handling technologies and processes such as robotics, printing, bar coding, software, sorting, loading, and unloading.
Demonstrated experience reading design drawings, technical specifications, and other related materials.
Ability to analyze technical content and communicate the intent to non-technical audiences
Ability to work on multiple projects and initiatives at one time.
Ability to prioritize tasks appropriately.
Ability to work under tight deadlines.
Ability to pay strict attention to details.
TRAVEL
Minimal travel is required, as dictated by contract requirements.
DRIVING REQUIREMENT
Must have or be able to attain a valid state driver's license and be insurable on the company's automobile insurance policy.
Driving, with or without accommodation, may be required when traveling for training and/or short occasional amounts of local driving. The expected driving time is less than 25%.
