JOB SUMMARY

The Industrial Engineering Internship is designed to provide hands-on work experience and opportunity to learn manufacturing techniques in a production environment. The internship will support activities related to the production of Stanley LaBounty attachments, with a focus on routing accuracy.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Conduct time studies for part routing verification and accuracy. Implement approved time changes in MRP system.

  • Develop and document graphical work instructions for Assembly, Welding and Machine processes.

  • Other duties as assigned.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES

  • Currently enrolled in a Bachelor's Degree program in Manufacturing, Industrial, Mechanical Engineering, or related field.

  • Desire to work in a production plant environment with both salaried and hourly associates.

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.

  • Results-orientation, with the ability to drive projects to completion, multi-task and prioritize assignments.

JOB SUMMARY The Associate Product Engineer is a key position in our engineering organization and also a critical link to drive future profitable growth for the business. The successful candidate will focus on design of new products and be a key team member to drive the project execution of product launches. This position is aimed at individuals who want to be in an environment where their creativity and innovative ideas are welcomed. The successful candidate will be a part of product development, product launches and work closely with all functions including product management, sales and operations. The Associate Product Engineer has the opportunity to utilize their education and experience to positively impact the design and development of products in Hydraulics. The successful candidate who performs well in this role will have growth opportunities available within the business. ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES * Complete Applications analysis on attachment lifts, conversions and rotation analysis * Model parts and/or subassemblies and create detailed drawings of new or existing parts * Upgrade existing designs to provide innovative solutions for customers. * Complete production prints for Sales order work including brackets, hydraulics and minor attachment modifications * Perform to optimize the build in manufacturing. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES Education * B.S. Engineering (Mechanical Preferred) with 1-3 years of relevant experience/co-op's/internships (preferably in the design and manufacture of products in a similar industry). Technical Skills * Basic 3D modeling and 2D drawing creation (ProE preferred) and ability to use Microsoft Office suite of products including Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Project. Basic CAE skills include part modeling, assembly modeling, drawing creation, etc. * Basic machine design: general understanding of simple machines & mechanisms. Focus is on the design of carrier mounted medium pressure (6000 psi) hydraulic machines including: (1) component level design of cylinders, swivels, pivot groups, etc., (2) component design of large (20,000 lb) structural steel weldments and (3) machine design of attachments to cut, crush, hold, etc. * Basic manufacturing knowledge: general awareness of common machines and process capabilities. Focus is on knowledge of manufacturing processes including: (1) mill, lathe, drill press, ID/OD grinding, (2) heavy fabrication including burn and weld up to 150mm sections, and (3) inspection/measurement techniques required for +/- 0.001 inch. * Basic problem solving : able to solve general technical problems as they arise * Test and analysis: able to execute standard tests and gather required data Influencing and Communication Skills * Excellent interpersonal and communication skills * Ability to collaborate with cross functional team members * Basic project management skills and experience * Ability to see change as a positive and translate it into opportunities * Resourceful results-driven individual who consistently delivers results Leadership * Results-oriented with the ability to multi-task and prioritize. * Strong leadership skills * Demonstrated sense of urgency Stanley Black And Decker Two Harbors MN
