Investigate, analyze, and propose new or improved methods and systems relative to reducing costs.
Assist in the development of manning requirements.
Maintain Production department performance reports
Create / Update Value Stream Map (VSM) across Production units
Perform Time studies and analysis in developing production standards
Implement 5S on work-stations across all Production units
Standardize work procedures for equipment's / processes across all Production units as required
Support Production Supervisors with implementation of Kaizen
Review and Update existing production layouts
Streamline material flow across all Production units
Assist in sustaining recently improved processes
Assist in revising training material on Lean philosophy
Must be enrolled at an accredited University/ College and current Junior or Senior Level student pursuing a degree in Industrial Engineering or a related field..
Desired Cumulative GPA of 2.75 on a 4.0 scale
Ability to work a minimum of 20 hours
Knowledge (Experience preferred) of Lean tools such as Value Stream Mapping, Time Study, 5S, Kanban, Standardization, JIT, PDCA, etc.
Motivated to identify waste, propose improvements and lead / support implementation of improvement projects on Manufacturing and Business processes
Must be willing to execute multiple tasks in a demanding work environment
Proficiencies in: Microsoft Office Suite including Excel, PowerPoint, Word and Visio
Good communication skills; verbal, written and able to effectively communicate with all levels of the organization
Must be detail oriented, team player, flexible and self-starter with strong interpersonal skills
