As the Industrial Engineer I/II supporting ITAD Ingram Micro business group distribution centers. This support would include evaluation, analysis, recommendations and implementation pertaining to all distribution center processes and material handling changes for configuration, kitting, assembly, reverse logistics, and fulfillment operations.

Your role:

  • Designs and maintains process flows, techniques, tools and documentation to support ITAD business requirements.

  • Deliveries standards setting and utilizes continual process improvement methods to drive repeatable results at minimal operating costs.

  • Makes recommendations to management on program options.

  • Provides documentation and presentations on cost justification on projected return on investment.

  • Ensures attainment of project goals and objectives through the application of sound management techniques and independent assessments of cost/benefit trade-offs.

  • Analyzes material handling process and determines methods, procedures and equipment for increasing productivity and efficiency.

  • Apply statistical methods and perform mathematical calculations to determine manufacturing processes, staff requirements, and production standards.

  • Experience in fast paced, high volume environments including multi-site operating experience strongly preferred.

  • Requires the ability to travel up to 50% of the time, work weekends, and extended hours when projects and the job demand

  • You will also take full advantage of technology that is available, reduce environmental concerns, and focus on promoting workers' safety.

What you bring to the role:

  • BS in Engineering or equivalent work experience and 2-3 years' experience as an Industrial or

Process Engineer in an ITAD or Reverse Logistics/Repair center environment.

  • Working knowledge of desktop and data center product testing, configuration and data eradication methods.

  • Strong Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint skills a must.

Support efforts to resolve product technical issues impacting product quality, delivery, and cost. Responsible for solving complex technical issues in product design thru structured problem solving, development of engineering solutions using technical skills and structured design tools (DFMEA, Simulation Analysis, etc.) and implementation of design changes while adhering to company procedures and industry and regulatory standards. Applies analytical skills to interpret data and uses independent judgment and discretion in developing solutions to a variety of work problems of moderate scope and complexity. Essential Functions * Provide sustaining engineering support for Beckman Coulter Life Science products produced at the Indianapolis Site (Particle Characterization, Capillary Electrophoresis, Centrifuge, and Liquid Handling Automation) * Responsible for the completion of mechanical design projects from conception, definition, design, and release to production targeted to resolve product design issues impacting external customer quality, operational metrics (delivery, yield, cost), and other product change drivers (regulatory, feature enhancements, etc.) * Responsible for leading and supporting design change team activities in order to document and implement design changes in compliance with design control procedures. * Develops and executes component and/or system tests to verify performance of mechanical components/systems to documented design requirements. * Responsible for maintaining and updating product related documentation (both drawings and ERP system information) thru design and documentation control procedures (Design Change Plans, Verification Reports, Documentation Change Control (COR's), etc.) Technical Requirements * Bachelor Degree in Mechanical Engineering with 2 years experience in product development and product engineering support role or Master's Degree with 0-2 years experience. * Experience with instrumentation (equipment) design and integration including complex optical systems, electro-mechanical systems, fluid handling, pneumatics, and/or thermal systems. * Proficiency in using SolidWorks (Surface Modeling, Motion, and simulation), Performing Tolerance Analysis, and GD&T * Demonstrated capability to troubleshoot and improve mechanical and electromechanical systems using formal problem solving methodology with analytical and statistical methods. * Experience in dealing with design changes in a structured design control/change environment for medical devices. * Excellent technical writing and PC skills required (MS Office) with attention to detail Critical Competencies * Utilizes Critical Thinking - Deals with complex concepts comfortably; is knowledgeable, capable and agile.
