Position Description:

Apply lean manufacturing principles & techniques to establish and continuously improve workforce efficiency and JPH.

  • Apply Modular Arrangement Predetermined Time Standards and Lean principles to drive development and/or installation of direct and indirect labor standards and methods

  • Conduct Job Ergonomics evaluations.

  • Create and maintain Operator Instruction sheets/work element sheets-IS/WES/and time studies for all operations in assigned area

  • Lead rebalance/workforce reduction activities for assigned area

  • Participate and drive cycle line layout for all forward models

  • Support all launch build activities in all launch phases

  • Support Production in workforce related tracking and activities

  • Work in multi-functional teams with both UAW and salary employees

  • Should have a proven willingness to take a participatory approach to union relations and be a great teammate

  • Should have the ability to serve as a strong and confident technical mentor to the production organization (both hourly and salary)

  • Should have strong written and verbal communications skills

  • Willingness to work all shifts / alternative work schedule and weekends as the need arises The minimum requirements: - Bachelor in Engineering Our preferred requirements:

  • Demonstrate experience in accomplishing tasks and objectives

  • Strong problem-solving ability

  • Modular Arrangement Predetermined Time Standards certified or competing time systems.

  • Self-Motivated

  • Microsoft Office proficiency (Word/Excel/Outlook) - AutoCAD proficiency preferred

  • Successful candidate will demonstrate leadership behaviors, combined with outstanding interpersonal, team building, organizational, and communication skills

This role will support nationwide projects and report to a manager out of the Dearborn, MI office. Candidates can choose to be HYBRID, or 100% IN OFFICE, with availability to support project sites in the Southeast Michigan region.</p><p>Position Summary:</p><p>Determine the most cost effective means for an organization to create a product or service. In doing so, the Industrial Engineer will often develop methods to increase productivity, improve efficiency, reduce waste, and manage human capital and equipment more effectively.</p><p>Essential Job Functions:</p><p>Provide industrial engineering analysis, typically in a lead role while occasionally managing smaller projects, to:</p><ul><li><p>Perform process improvement studies to develop more efficient ways to utilize people, machines, material, information, and energy to create a product or service.</p></li><li><p>Assist clients in increasing productivity within their processes and operations by applying lean principles.</p></li><li><p>Observe operations, collect data, and perform process validation and maintain necessary documentation.</p></li><li><p>Use various problem solving methodologies to identify the root causes of problems so that process improvements can be developed/recommended to eliminate the root causes.</p></li><li><p>Utilize time study and predetermined labor standards systems for establishing labor standards, developing standardized work, and balancing production processes.</p></li><li><p>Develop materials management analysis which may include:</p></li><li><p>Storage analysis and layouts for warehouse and market areas</p></li><li><p>Material flow analyses to improve material movement through facilities</p></li><li><p>Dock utilization analyses to determine quantities, types, and locations of shipping/receiving docks</p></li><li><p>Estimated labor and material handling equipment requirements</p></li><li><p>Develop conceptual facility planning layouts in CAD (typically AutoCAD) to create efficient process and material flow through systematic layout planning principles to ensure proper size, shape, and configuration of a proposed facility.</p></li><li><p>Develop budget and capital expenditure plans for operational improvements.</p></li><li><p>Perform cost studies, economic comparisons, and justification analysis.</p></li><li><p>Confer with customers to implement plans and recommendations. Often required to provide on-site support during implementation activities.</p></li><li><p>Support the development of various reports and presentation materials for customer presentations, and lead customer presentations as needed.</p></li><li><p>Provide input and participate in sales opportunities, and proposal/estimate development and support as needed.</p></li></ul><p>Qualifications</p><p>Education:</p><ul><li>BS degree in Industrial Engineering or Manufacturing Engineering from an accredited university preferred.
