Job Description:

Boeing's Defense, Space and Security, Strategic Missile & Defense Systems, Patriot Advanced Capability-3 (PAC-3) Program is looking for an Entry-Level Industrial Engineer (IE) to support the rate production factory located in Huntsville, Alabama. This position will work under general supervision of a Senior Industrial Engineer.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Applying basic Industrial Engineering concepts, techniques, analysis and decision tools to promote and implement changes in manufacturing, engineering and service operations.

  • Developing models, data bases and spreadsheets to analyze data (e.g., statistics, operations research, engineering economics), and provide summary analysis and metrics as directed by higher level employees for consultation to customers (e.g., management, departments, suppliers).

  • Applying basic industrial engineering techniques and concepts to product and process design teams throughout all phases of product lifecycle, resulting in a robust product design and work statement that meets program requirements.

  • Research, design, develop, improve, and implement processes as directed to enhance schedule performance, lower cost, and improve quality, through the application of Lean and other Industrial Engineering concepts for large scale systems integration and asset utilization.

  • Utilize engineering methods (e.g., mathematical models, simulation, statistics) to assist in developing optimal process designs and efficient utilization of resources (e.g., facilities, personnel, materials, equipment) in the creation and validation of products.

  • Analyze and support the design of the value stream, including capability, capacity (e.g., make/buy, supplier selection, risk analysis, supplier performance), throughput, work flow and logistics (e.g., critical path, lead-time, transportation, factory layout).

Qualifications

This position requires the ability to obtain a US Security Clearance for which the US Government requires US Citizenship.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills & Experience):

  • Bachelor's Degree or higher

  • Ability to travel 10%

  • Experience with Microsoft Office tools

  • Ability to obtain Interim Security Clearance Pre-Start & final Post-Start.

  • Ability to support overtime/weekend work

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • Experience working with electronics, electrical or Electro-mechanical systems

  • Minimum of 1 year of aerospace manufacturing support or aerospace factory work

  • Current Secret Clearance

Typical Education/Experience:

  • Bachelor, Master or Doctorate of Science degree from an accredited course of study, in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry. ABET is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.

This position will be located in Huntsville, AL and does not offer relocation assistance. Applicants must reside in area or be willing to relocate at their own expense. This is not negotiable.
