Position Summary:

The Industrial Engineer role is responsible for providing professional services across the assigned location across 4 areas: (1) Distribution center designs including CAD drawings, (2) Strategic solutions that improve productivity using time measurements, (3) Manage the strategic development of all Labor Management programs including incentive plans and (4) Support Business Case Development that requires labor inputs and productivity validations.

Position Location: Butner, NC

Principle Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Develop CAD facility drawings (interior and exterior) translating the business requirements to support distribution and transportation needs.

  • Facilitate engineering requirements and permits for site plans (e.g. electrical, plumbing, refrigeration, fire protection, HVAC, etc.).

  • Partner with the Supply Chain Operations to align core processes with overall distribution center design, including MHE requirements (racks, forklifts, totes, etc.).

  • Continuous review of labor model to find areas for simplification, including the updates to operational strategies (e.g. scheduling), processes, supplies and seasonal/weather related factors.

  • Identify and prioritize simplicity roadmap of productivity improvements based on activity based costing analysis by standardize work methods and performance to drive incremental productivity improvements.

  • Develop prioritized roadmap of productivity improvements based on activity based costing analysis and benchmarking for the campus.

  • Provide recommendations for preferred operational methods and labor management improvements.

  • Perform research in support of key operations management decisions related to process and service level management. Expert in workflow management and analysis of labor standards to ensure requirements are accounted for within the standards.

  • Provide insight on facility layout and work flow design. Provide appropriate analysis to support recommendations on changes and facility improvements.

  • Determine if other tools/technologies will support campus growth ambitions in terms of workforce management; develop business case and recommendations.

  • Develop and maintain labor standards utilizing the MOST predetermined time methodology.

  • Complete annual renewal / refresh of labor standards to ensure all business changes are considered and properly reflected in the labor model.

  • Optimize incentive plans for Operations leadership and Finance to validate Incentive Plans and performance validation (e.g. adjusting baselines, incentive plan structure, etc.)

  • Act as the industrial engineering liaison to key business stakeholders supporting business case development and validations.

  • Evaluate new business proposals and proposed operational process changes to understand impact of labor hours.

Requirements Basic Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree (Industrial Engineer required)

Experience

  • 2-4 years; implementation and/or management of Engineered Labor Standards preferred

Position Summary: Supervisor II Receiving Position Location: Butner, NC Schedule: Monday-Friday Shift-3:00-Midnight Position Summary: Oversee the department functions, associates, and meets and maintains production standards for receiving or shipping department assigned. Handles all daily issues and projects under the direction of the Operations Manager. Works with all Distribution Center Departments, Transportation, and Inventory Management to ensure the timely and safe movement of product. Hold associates accountable for providing retail and our customers the best quality product possible. Duties and Responsibilities Supervises day to day activities of department of business unit and assigned staff * Supervise associate performance through performance planning, coaching, appraisal and disciplinary efforts * Responsible for assisting in hiring, training, and developing of all new and existing associates * Work with all applicable departments to ensure efficiently and accurate flow of inventory in and out of distribution center * Work with business partners and unload service to ensure they are fully staffed and supporting distribution operations in a safe manner * Observe department staffing daily and make adjustments where needed. * Verify daily that associates are on a Labor Management assignment. * Hold departmental meetings as expected * Communicate and administer disciplinary action to associates who violate company policy. * Communicate with appropriate individuals/departments during the shift that my affect other warehouse departments * Supervise associates time and attendance * Efficiently lead the associates of the department toward attaining their individual and combined goals through hands-on guidance. * Help meet department operational and budget goals * Provide accurate reporting information to DC Leadership Team and others * Provide project/task leadership as assigned * Make recommendations for modifications to procedures or processes impacting their work group or center that will maximize efficiency, productivity, and reduce costs * Ensure compliance with established standards in the areas of accuracy, safety and productivity. * Aggressively pursue waste and inefficiencies in their operation. * Target potential improvements and work with teams to improve working environment and product throughput. * Act as "change agent" to drive "lean" education and utilization. * Play a key role in the development of a Continuous Improvement mindset in our operations in order to better service our costumer and provide and support training for associates to support continuous improvement ideas. * Accountable for "lean" process sustainability within assigned operations.
