Industrial Engineer

Our client is an industry leader in trailer manufacturing located in Kewanee, IL. This is one of 8 plants nationally that makes semi truck trailers. This industrial engineer will be the only IE and responsible for all IE functions. Engineers have a lot of sway and ability to implement projects and change so they will be a leader within Great Dane.

IE/project engineer

Looking for someone who can manage a project. Has some experience handling contractors. Have funds from last year for 3rd party consulting firm doing work instructions and line balancing for us. Dealing with corporate folks.

This person will also be doing floor support- one pagers on how to install this or that

Time studies when needed.

If Proplanner trial goes well - would lead to a remote or Savannah, Georgia corporate job.

We use a program called timer pro right now.

What is the Proplanner trial? Work instructions, cycle/takt time charts, line balancing, what tools to use, what parts you're putting on. Phase 1 we're going to do pictures.

It's an MES system.

How much is revolved around that transition vs. floor support: to start 60% floor support, 40% on work instruction portion of the project with a company called PNC that I'm using. After time we'll flip the percentages the other way. There's a daily need for time studies, work instructions. We don't' have a very mature system. About 35% of our areas are covered with work instructions and the rest is tribal knowledge. This is making work instructions from the ground floor.

We don't have the layers those companies have. You can make a name for yourself.

2-3 years before it would become a corporate role. If this is successful I see them being the role out coordinator for other plants.

• 60% floor Support - 40% work instructions/Proplanner project

o Pmc is the contract house supporting that

• Then will go 40% floor support to 60% Proplanner project

• Daily need for time studies and work studies

• We have 35% of our areas are covered in work instructions, the rest is tribal knowledge

• Lot of visibility for your work and area for improvement and will be recognized.

• How long with will pro-planner project take? 2-3 years in Kewanee.

o Could see if developing to the ROLL - OUT Coordinator for 8 other plants, could be remote CORP engineer.

• How do we know it project is successful? - feedback from change overs, quality improvements, process time improvement, training times improved, cross training improvement
