Industrial Engineer

Job Description

We are currently looking for an experienced Engineer to join our team and take on a pivotal role in overseeing and managing our maintenance department. As an Industrial Engineer, you will be instrumental in improving the efficiency and productivity of our manufacturing and delivery systems. You will have oversight and management of the maintenance department and be responsible for designing systems, analyzing data, reducing costs, and enhancing work areas.

Responsibilities

• Collect and analyze data on processes and production through observations, time studies, and surveys. Identify trends and areas for improvement to drive decision-making and enhance performance.
• Develop and implement processes, systems, and enhancements to maximize productivity, efficiency, and optimal use of space.
• Provide daily direction to maintenance technicians, manage the Preventative Maintenance plan, and assist with developing processes for long-term success.
• Focus on reducing operational costs while maintaining high standards. Implement cost controls and monitor expenditures to minimize production issues and optimize resource utilization.
• Design, redesign, or enhance work areas and layouts to eliminate inefficiencies and repetitive motions, fostering a more productive and ergonomic environment.
• Identify potential risk factors and develop comprehensive safety plans to minimize health and safety risks. Conduct employee safety training to promote a safe working environment.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering preferred but equivalent engineering experience will be considered.
• Candidate must be open to and interested in managing maintenance and being the lone engineer onsite.

Work Environment

You will manage up to 4 maintenance technicians in a plant with approximately 100 people overall. The facility is not temperature controlled. The working hours are Monday to Friday, 8 AM to 5 PM, with production hours from 5 AM to 5 PM. This role offers the opportunity to develop management skills and engage directly with senior leadership in a small company environment. There are numerous opportunities for quick wins to build confidence while learning about the industry.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $40.00/hr.
