Industrial Electrician - Hopewell, VA

Turner Industries Group is looking for an Experienced Industrial Electrician for work in Hopewell, VA.

• 3 to 5 years experience

• Must be able to pass background check

• Must be able to read/comprehend construction drawings

• Must be able to cut, thread, bend and install rigid metal conduit

• Must be able to install support systems for conduit

• Must be able to install and wire fixtures, devices and other electrically powered components.

• Must have knowledge of high/low voltage systems as well as general knowledge of motors, MCC and DCS.

Not required, but beneficial:

• TWIC not required, but a plus

• NCCER not required, but a plus

• Experience with instrumentation and tubing

• Pay will depend on experience

Per diem and relocation is not available for this position; the successful candidate will be a current resident in/near the Hopewell area.

General Job Description:

Plans layout, installs and repairs wiring, electrical fixtures and control equipment.

Functional Requirements:

Plans new or modified installations to minimize waste of materials, provides access for future maintenance and avoids unsightly, hazardous and unreliable wiring consist with specifications and local electrical codes; prepares sketches showing location of wiring and equipment, or follows diagrams or blueprints, insuring that concealed wiring is installed before completion of future walls, ceilings and flooring; measures, cuts, bends, threads, assembles and installs electrical conduit; pulls wiring through conduit; splices wires; connects wiring to lighting fixtures and power equipment; installs control and distribution apparatus, such as switches, relays and circuit breaker panels; connects power cables to equipment, such as electric range or motor, and installs grounding leads; tests continuity of circuit to ensure electrical compatibility and safety of components; observes functioning of installed equipment or system to determine hazards and need for adjustments, relocation, or replacement; may repair faulty equipment or systems.

Tools/Equipment:

Employee may be required to provide the following: tool box, slide cutter, channel locks, adjustable wrench, torpedo level, diagonal or stakon pliers, needle nose pliers, allen wrenches, voltage tester, electrician's knife, rule, pencil, tool pouch, fillister screwdriver, Phillips screwdriver, crescent wrenches, hacksaw, and rain suit

Physical Involvement:

Employee may be required to do the following: climbing ladders, scaffolds, structures, etc. above and below ground level; maintaining balance on ladders, scaffolds structures, etc.; reaching in all directions, handling and manipulating objects and materials; coordinating the movements of eyes, hands and fingers to operate tools and equipment; lifting 30 to 50 pounds from ground level, waist level, and/or overhead; carrying objects, tools, equipment, etc.; standing; sitting; walking; pushing; pulling; bending; kneeling; crouching/squatting; crawling; seeing with or without correction; hearing with or without correction
