Industrial Electrician (Controls Technician)
Paducah, KY

Primary Responsibilities
Follows, without exception, all work instructions and safety rules, including the use of all PPE and safety gear. Reinforces the instructions and rules with peers.
Troubleshoots control systems, identifies malfunctions and completes repairs
Develops the capability of existing control systems
Develops and installs new systems
Maintains the process instrument calibration program
Develops Preventative Maintenance and Calibration procedures and standards for plant instrumentation and control systems
Aids engineering staff in capital project controls development and start-up.
Trains plant personnel on equipment controls, as required
Trains new personnel in back-up duties
Services and repair mechanical or electrical equipment
Assists in developing purchasing requirements for electrical/control equipment for the facility
Assists in maintenance of the MP2 system.
Maintains a clean and safe work area.
Performs miscellaneous duties as assigned.
Participates in plant teams to improve safety, reduce cost, or other beneficial projects (Kaizen and GB projects)
Acts as a project leader for the Maintenance Department, as appropriate
Minimum Requirements
High School Diploma or G.E.D. equivalency
Superb oral/written communication skills
Computer literacy - Windows applications, PRISM, MP2
Mechanical skills with pumps, mixers, conveyors, valves and machinery repair; welding, burning, pipe fitting, and plumbing
Electrical skills with panel and conduit system construction, power systems, instrumentation and calibration, actuators, PLCs, HMIs, and networking.
Combination of at least 7 years of technical training and experience
Ability to act as Team Leader
Ability to work without continuous supervision
Preferred Requirements
Working knowledge of Windows NT/2000 computer networking/operating software applications
Experience in PLC, SLC and Logix programming and troubleshooting
Experience in HMI development both Panelview and RSView applications
Experience with SCADA systems and SQL programming
Experience with Fieldbus, HART, DH+, RIO, DF1 communication protocols
Experience installing and troubleshooting AC and DC Drive systems
Ability to read P&ID drawings and electrical schematics
Through knowledge of test and calibration equipment use
Understanding of chemical processes and process control techniques
Certified electrician or other trade specialist certificate (CCST Level 1)
Physical Requirements
While performing the duties of this position the employee is regularly required to stand.
The employee is frequently required to walk, climb stairs, use hands to remove or lift boxes, stretch and reach with arms extended, and stoop.
The employee must, regularly, lift and / or move up to 50 pounds, alone, and occasionally lift and / or move more than 100 pounds, with assistance.
Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to education, work experience, certifications, and geographic location.
The salary for this role is $34/hr.
