Industrial Design Manager

Kings Mountain International, a leader in the processing and finishing of architectural press plates for the laminating and aero-space industries, has an outstanding opportunity for a Graphic Arts Manager near Charlotte, NC. We are a privately-owned company just 30 miles west of Charlotte, NC, the home of the Carolina Panthers and NASCAR. We are seeking to hire an experienced Team leader with the ability to collaborate with other departments; and someone with strong Industrial Graphic Design, large format printing/ embossing separations experience related to Steel Press Plate Development and Finishing. The right candidate will be motivated, and have experience with Spot Colors, as well as Process Colors; and who possesses a creative imagination for three-dimensional thinking. This position has growth opportunity with the Company!


Understands and maintains knowledge of technical and creative changes within the decorative surfaces marketplace.

Conducts regular customer presentations for the purposes of showcasing new developments for KMI opportunities. Anticipates customer needs.

Manages department employees to meet customers requests and collaborates with Sales Team and Manufacturing Leadership Team.

Creates and successfully executes a design and production work flow to meet all deadlines of department.

Possesses experience and finesse in working to build customer relationships related to design efforts.

Maintains professionalism and communicates appropriately in person and via email.

Works with Graphic Arts Team collaboratively to create marketing ideas, concepts, and materials for customer distribution.


B.A. Degree from a four-year college or university in Graphic Design or related field.

Minimum of five years work experience in management and graphic design field.

Ability to travel domestically and internationally on occasion.

Job Description SUMMARY The North American Logistics Manager has leadership responsibility for strategy and daily regional logistics activities involving the storage and transport of non-hazardous and hazardous package and bulk products via all available modes of transport in support of Albemarle's regional customers and business. This regional logistic and supply chain role reports to the Global Director of Logistics within Supply Chain Organization and is governed by policies and frameworks established by Albemarle. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Leadership * Review the existing transportation and warehousing activities across all businesses in the region. Manage the collation of the spend map for these activities. * Develop and implement strategies to optimize the logistics costs, working capital and customer service standard for all businesses. * Deploy EHS policies to drive any necessary improvement for existing suppliers and set the standard for the engagement of new suppliers. * Provide support and guidance to Business supply chain and operations teams to ensure close alignment with business needs and compliance with corporate contracts and standards. * Mobilize regional team to execute the Global and Regional Logistics vision and mission * Manage team of Logistics professionals - - Recruit, develop, and motivate the talent within the team. * Build employee capacity, support their professional development, review and assess performance, and enable employees to optimize their contribution to the department. * Strong influential management skills to achieve objectives within the function and across other functional and business reporting lines. * Actively promote a culture of continuous improvement through ongoing analysis of network operation and performance with emphasis on safety, service, and cost. Functional * Drive the implementation and ongoing safe and cost effective operations of all regional logistics activities * Functional leader for the strategic sourcing of Regional transportation and logistics services on behalf of the enterprise to provide safe, compliant, and sustainable solutions for Albemarle's products. * Designs and manages the regional Logistics Network to ensure it remains capable to meet the needs of both internal and external customers while maintaining an optimal cost and service balance. * Works within corporate strategies, broad principles, policy frameworks, and designs to propose and implement logistic strategies, guidelines and procedures to meet requirements for short and long-term Business needs. * Assess the logistical security and risk to business continuity to devise appropriate risk mitigation strategies * Ensures compliance with safety, security and regulatory requirements including but not limited to transport, trade compliance and customs regulations. * Manage relationship with 3rd party partners to drive partner performance * Collaboration with Business Leaders to understand needs to deliver viable supply chain solutions * Engage with other Regional Logistics leaders, Global Trade Compliance and Order-to-Cash Leadership to ensure alignment on supply chain network and solutions * Develop and use KPIs and SLAs to measure and effectively manage performance * Develop and manage annual freight and cost budget to achieve cost targets * Implement logistics continuous improvement initiatives, including systems, to drive productivity, streamline opportunities, eliminate non-value added services and control costs through the development of metrics around efficiency and reliability.
