Job Title Industrial Assessment Center for Cybersecurity Director Job Description

The Industrial Assessment Center for Cybersecurity (IACC) Director reports to the Associate Vice President of Workforce Solutions and will lead the MGCCC Industrial Assessment Center for Cybersecurity. This position is responsible for building relationships with regional small and medium-sized manufacturers and women-owned and/or minority-owned small businesses in order to provide free assessments and consultations to identify cyber vulnerabilities. This position will also oversee student IACC internships and student recruiting, will teach relevant Information Systems Technology (IST) courses, and will work closely with other MGCCC and MSU cybersecurity instructors as well as the Mississippi Cyber Initiative (MCI) to create an emphasis on industrial cybersecurity in the curriculum.

Job Duties

1.Create, nurture, and maintain relationships with small and medium-sized manufacturers and women-owned/and or minority-owned small businesses in the MGCCC district.

2.Determine workforce and training needs in the area of Cybersecurity for local employers while informing them of the MGCCC Cybersecurity Technology program and IACC services.

3.Recruit small and medium-sized manufacturers and women-owned/and or minority-owned small businesses in the MGCCC district as IACC clients in order to determine their cyber vulnerabilities.

4.Work with Mississippi State University (MSU), the Mississippi Cyber Initiative(MCI), and other internal and external stakeholders to meet the required outcomes for the IACC grant.

5.Work with regional K-12 institutions and community organizations to hold recruiting events for the MGCCC Cybersecurity Technology program.

6.Oversee the creation, updating, and maintenance of an IACC website.

7.Give presentations on IACC services to local chambers of commerce and economic development organizations.

8.Work with the MGCCC Cybersecurity Technology program, the MSU Center for Cyber Education (CCE), and MCI to create credit and non-credit curricula for workforce training in industrial cybersecurity.

9.Work with MSU CCE to facilitate non-credit upskilling workshops and courses for small and medium-sized manufacturers and women-owned and/or minority-owned small businesses.



  1. Work with MGCCC Institutional Relations to produce and disseminate materials targeted to industry and community members to promote IACC efforts.

  2. Serve as instructor on specific Information Systems Technology courses.

  3. Take the lead in growing the vision for the IACC and seeking out pathways to sustainable funding.

  4. Maintain all records and files related to project management in an organized manner in adherence with MGCCC and Department of Energy policies, procedures, and protocols to ensure compliance with accountability systems, including internal and external audits.

  5. Produce reports as needed for internal and external stakeholders.

  6. Utilize creative problem-solving skills as needed to stay relevant and meet the needs of IACC clients.

  7. Complete all project management tasks and special projects with attention to detail in an accurate and timely manner.

  8. Serve on college committees and councils as assigned.

  9. Represent MGCCC at conferences, seminars, and state Workforce meetings, as appropriate.

  10. Adhere to all MGCCC policies and procedures and participate in college activities.

  11. Adhere to State, Federal, and Local laws and regulation.

  12. Maintain an effective working relationship with college personnel, students, and the community.

  13. Be willing to work flexible hours as needed.

  14. Upgrade skill level and performance through the College's Employee Development Program (EDP), at a minimum of 15 hours annually.

  15. Champion the role the college plays in service to the community.

  16. Perform other duties as assigned by the Associate Vice President of Workforce Solutions.


Mandatory Qualifications

(M1) Master's Degree in Cybersecurity or a closely related field, or significant progress toward a Master's Degree in Cybersecurity or a closely related field, from a regionally accredited institution of higher education. (M2) Experience in higher education, workforce development, business engagement, military leadership, or equivalent. (M3) Hold current Network+ and Security+ certifications or be capable of earning these certificates in the first three months. (M4) Hold one or more current certifications in A+, Linux+, Project+, CEH, CIW, or equivalent technical certifications. (M5) Superior written and interpersonal communication skills. (M6) Demonstrated Record Keeping Skills. (M7) Knowledge of industrial cybersecurity in manufacturing and small business environments. (M8) Demonstrated problem solving and project management skills.

Desirable Qualifications

(D1) Doctoral Degree in Cybersecurity or a closely related field, from a regionally accredited institution of higher education.(D2) Community College and/or post-secondary teaching experience. (D3) Industry experience in cybersecurity, especially in industrial or manufacturing sectors.
