Indirect Tax Analyst

ABC Supply, the nation's largest wholesale distributor of exterior building supplies, is looking for Indirect Tax Analyst to join the team in Beloit, WI.

Basic Overview of Position To provide assistance related to various areas of Indirect Tax compliance and supporting activities including audits

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and submit sales, use, gross receipts and similar transaction-based tax returns

  • Provide tax related and general assistance to Indirect Tax management team

  • Prepare, review, and/or submit sales, use, gross receipts and similar transaction-based tax returns, business licenses, or Secretary of State filings

  • Review and process customer exemption certificates; provide guidance to Indirect Tax team, as requested

  • Coordinate handling of property tax payments and retention of supporting documents

  • Gather, retain, and review data related to Indirect Tax audits

  • Provide tax guidance to internal and external customers, and communicate with state and local taxing jurisdictions to resolve tax notices

  • Support and/or lead tax system maintenance, including jurisdictional setups, product taxability, and customer resale and exemption certificates

  • Assist with invoice and report review and analysis in relation to either monthly reporting or project assignments

  • Assist with review of tax write-off requests, which may include invoice and resale or exemption certificate review as well as interdepartmental and client interaction

  • Assist with, or lead, seasonal and project assignments, as requested


  • Associates Degree required; Bachelors in Accounting or Finance preferred

  • Knowledge of accounting and tax concepts and principles

  • Solid oral and written communication skills for internal and external contact

  • Time management, communication, and organizational skills

  • Ability to take ownership of all assigned projects and tasks

  • Ability to operate personal computer; experience with Microsoft Office products; ERP and billing systems, sales tax software and tax research experience a plus

Where You'll Work: The Supply Chain Analyst - Super User – 3rd Party Distribution position will be based at our IronWorks office in Beloit, WI and will work under the direction of the Third Party Manufacturing and Third Party Distribution Project Lead to help meet corporate, business unit, and department objectives and goals. This position will support the implementation of Kerryconnect in Kerry's North American Sites. They will do this by preparing, analyzing, monitoring and reporting data. Ensuring data accuracy and developing tools to effectively communicate information are keys to the position. The individual must have the ability to multitask, analyze, troubleshoot, make recommendations, and implement solutions within the business. The 3rd Party Distribution - Super user is responsible for ensuring the successful implementation of Kerryconnect by supporting the completion of process documentation, testing, issue identification and resolution, training, and providing necessary data. As an expert in Kerryconnect methodologies and processes, the candidate is expected to work closely with internal business unit customers to understand their business processes and be able to ensure those processes are met within Kerry Connect. What You'll Do: * Support Business Objectives * Confirm the third party distribution sites * Detail the documents/systems that are used to communication information between the 3rd parties and Kerry * Document the process flow of materials to and from the 3rd parties and Kerry customers * Ensure accurate information is gathered and prepared to be loaded into SAP * Translate current Mapics processes to be able to work in SAP * Collaborate with all team members to share knowledge and participate in team related activities * Support identification of Kerryconnect requirements, issues, critical success factors, and progress * Day to Day * Complete data templates for 3rd party distribution * Review the flow of product through our 3rd party * Ensure all data is accurate in SAP to allow that product flow to happen properly * Collaborate with administration, end users, IT, and other stakeholders regarding business objectives, goals, and issues * Actively participate in modeling, designing appropriate back-end structures to meet business requirements * Create user documentation and deliver end user training * Will be required to travel occasionally as needed What You'll Need: * Understands operation links with customer care, warehouse, supply chain and manufacturing. * Experienced in working with 3rd party providers of distribution and manufacturing. * Knowledge of factory and DC distribution networks. * Bachelor's degree (B.S.) from a four-year accredited college or university in Accounting, Applied Economics, Finance, Quantitative Business Analysis, Supply Chain, Business Operations Management or related field of study. Preference will be given to candidates with a history of academic excellence, manifested by high grade point average and/or faculty recommendation * Advanced analytical, planning and problem-solving abilities * Inquisitive nature that enjoys problem-solving and identifying business improvements * Must be detail oriented and able to work in a fast moving, demanding environment * Ability to work collaboratively with various levels of business users, IT department, and vendors to resolve business and system issues in timely manner * Excellent verbal and written communication skills to build strong interpersonal relationships at all levels of the organization and with external organizations.
